Chad Gable summoned some old friends on this week’s Raw in London. Acting upon Rey Mysterio‘s advice to make amends with his former Alpha Academy stablemates, Gable called out Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri to the ring. The former US Olympian owned up to how he ill-treated every single one of them.

Gable first addressed Dupri and hailed her for putting in the hard yards that enabled her to capture the Intercontinental Championship, which is something that Gable has yet to accomplish. The Minnesotan admitted that the way he treated her was pathetic, and it was on him. He then turned to Tozawa, whom Gable referred to as someone with the heart the size of a lion and an embodiment of fighting spirit.

Gable knew he embarrassed the Japanese wrestler back then and called it his fault. Last but certainly not least, Gable came face-to-face with Otis. Chad Gable’s voice cracked multiple times while talking about how much Otis has meant to him personally. Gable said Otis was the single most loyal friend anyone could ask for on this planet.

The erstwhile Shorty G talked about how they trained for the Olympics together, winning the tag team titles in WWE, and Otis holding Gable’s baby girls right after they were born. The 40-year-old realized that he threw all that away just in the pursuit of winning a singles championship, and that was on him too. Having said that, Gable said sorry to the three of his former running buddies.

He even extended his hand for Otis to grab it. The latter was extremely conflicted after everything he went through at the hands of Gable not that long ago. Just when it seemed like Otis would accept Gable’s apology, Maxxine Dupri came in their way, and she started going off on Gable.

The former women’s IC Champion didn’t forget how her former mentor made her beg for the mercy of both Tozawa and Otis. She trashed ‘Master Gable’ for ultimately dumping them for selfish reasons. Dupri said that Chad Gable‘s always been about himself, and the apology he was seeking was his attempt to make everything about himself yet again.

After tasting singles gold, Dupri finally realized that neither she nor Tozawa or Otis needed Gable’s help to succeed. The Alpha Academy didn’t need him then, and they certainly don’t need him now. Maxxine said she and her boys will leave Gable the same way he left them high and dry to drown in this business a couple of years ago. She shoved the mic on Gable’s chest in disgust before exiting. Otis hung back for a while and gave Gable a still look before turning back and leaving.

Chad Gable ran into The Judgment Day backstage on Raw

Later in the show, Chad Gable was chatting with the Raw GM Adam Pearce about having a match with Penta. They got interrupted by Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Liv Morgan. ‘Dirty Dom’ said Gable didn’t deserve a match with the Intercontinental Champion when he can’t even be forgiven by his friends.

The former one-half of American Alpha asked Mysterio to take care of McDonagh, who had been electrocuted by Danhausen earlier. It ticked off ‘Dom’, and he asked Gable to apologize to him, as he was the king of the luchadores. The former OG El Grande Americano retorted by telling Mysterio to beat the apology out of him if he wanted one.

The current AAA Mega Champion pushed back on it but suggested Chad Gable face JD McDonagh next week. It would be interesting to see where this takes Gable en route to SummerSlam, considering several within WWE are reportedly pushing for him to have a prominent presence at the Biggest Party of the Summer this year.
