There are many stories championing Tom Brady’s perfectionist attitude toward football. Add one more to it. Josh Gordon was Brady’s teammate for a handful of months, but he experienced something unique that separated Brady from the others.

Gordon arrived in Boston via a trade from the Cleveland Browns before the start of the second week of football. He made 11 appearances for the Patriots that year and won a Super Bowl ring.

During the offseason, Gordon, along with Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and a few others, trained at Brady’s residence. Gordon recalled eating food cooked by Brady’s wife (ex-wife Gisele Bundchen).

The training wasn’t like anything else he had experienced before.

We would just do the most crazy routine of like standing in one spot and at least 50 times you just catching one specific pass… Alex Guerrero, his coach, is just holding the gun, like a speedometer for baseball, that was just clocking if it stays at 62 miles per hour.

Catching the ball at that kind of speed left an everlasting impression on Gordon. His respect for Brady grew after this experience.

He’s obsessive, bro. That’s the craziest [expletive]. When you see how hard people prepare.

Gordon said

In the following season, Gordon played six games before the Patriots waived him. In total, Gordon played 17 games, caught 60 passes for over 900 yards, and scored 4 touchdowns.

Following a short spell with the Seattle Seahawks, Gordon played a couple of games in the Fan Controlled Football league in 2021. He returned to the NFL, signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. Gordon left the league after appearing in a couple of games for the Tennessee Titans.

He tried his luck in the now-defunct XFL before retiring from pro football in September 2024.

Gordon played 77 games in the NFL, spread across the Browns, Patriots, Seahawks, Chiefs, and Titans. He caught 252 passes for 4284 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. During his second year with the Browns, Gordon caught 87 passes, 1646 yards (league leader), and scored 9 touchdowns, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.

Owner closely linked with Tom Brady makes a massive claim about the NFL expansion

Roger Goodell’s dream of making the NFL a global phenomenon like the NBA is slowly taking shape. Over the last few years, the NFL has increased its revenue by partnering with online streaming platforms, adding one extra game and could add one more within the next five years, while also going international by increasing the number of overseas games.

Mike Repole, the owner of NoBull and a close friend of Tom Brady, hinted that the NFL could soon introduce two new expansion teams.

I think that even if we stayed where we’re at, we’re gonna get closer to the end of bowl seasons because [the NFL and CFB] are going further along. And again, I think that’s an opportunity. That just shows you how much people love football. I think the NFL’s doing eight, or nine, or 10 international games this year… They’re adding an extra week, talking about two more expansion teams… It’s great for football.

Mike Repole told the reporters

More teams equate to more games for fans to enjoy. For now, fans are looking forward to the 2026 season, which promises to be equally entertaining as the last.
