With LeBron James prioritizing happiness over money, the superstar is looking towards playing on a team that not only respects him but also gives him a chance to compete for a title. For that reason, his agent, Rich Paul, has been tasked with finding teams that can help him achieve that.
He has also made it clear that at age 41, he does not want to play for a non-contender or even babysit young players in the hope that they will get better as the season goes on.
Those aspects take several teams off his radar. But at the same time, gives him a few options that can help him achieve his goals. The only problem is that the King has to wait and see how those teams finish setting up their rosters.
Naturally, the Golden State Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Miami Heat are supposedly at the front of the race to get his signature. In the meantime, another team was added to the list over the past 48 hours.
Philadelphia… everything changed… How could you not have the attention when you have Maxey, Edgecombe, Brown, and Embiid… He loves Maxey… He helps VJ understand how to play the game… Obviously Jaylen Brown.

After the super agent broke it down, his Game Over Podcast co-host Max Kellerman agreed that LeBron James can help the newly retooled Philadelphia 76ers roster take the next step.
Well this is the craziest thing to wake up to…

Max Kellerman & Rich Paul break down why LeBron is seriously considering joining the Philadelphia 76ers… Listen to every word he says. Absolutely fascinating & honestly cannot believe this is our reality. We have a real chance. pic.twitter.com/61doExaHh1
Sure, he will get a Jaylen Brown who is more motivated than ever. But that makes it all the more enticing for LeBron James, as he can teach them how to be dominant.
LeBron James has other links to 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers came into the picture after the Jaylen Brown blockbuster that shook the entire league. Before that, the team was not considered one of his desired destinations.
But as Rich Paul said, the trade changed the dynamic. However, Brown is not the only reason the father of three has an interest in joining the Pennsylvania-based franchise.
Jameer Nelson is a part of the front office, ex-player. Mike Gansey is an Ohio guy. There’s a picture floating around that Gansey’s brother put out, of Gansey and LeBron, that were a part of the high-school, Ohio, All-Americans for the season.
Rich Paul said
Having the General Manager as one of his known associates is one of the best advantages a player of LeBron James’ caliber and experience can have.
Rich Paul mentions “an X-Factor” with the Sixers & that’s Jameer Nelson & Mike Gansey…

He acknowledges the picture his brother tweeted of Gansey & LeBron together in high school & says that LeBron “absolutely” remembers him.
All of this is truly incredible & insane lmao pic.twitter.com/HJf7QXAnTX
During his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers and his eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers, not having the decision-maker in his corner led him to eventually leave the team. That is likely why Rich Paul stressed how knowing 76ers GM Mike Gansey is an ‘X factor’ for LeBron James
LeBron James to 76ers could fulfil his dream of winning another title
The Philadelphia 76ers faced an embarrassing sweep at the hands of the eventual champion New York Knicks. However, soon after that, the owners swung into action to fix what was wrong with the team.

Out went analytical guru Daryl Morey, and owner Josh Harris asked former Warriors’ GM Bob Myers to find their next man. If he brought in Mike Gansey, that means he views him that highly.
On top of that, to promote Jameer Nelson, a former player who has a knack for understanding the nuances of players, was an ace move.
The duo combined to jettison Paul George, a player whose time with the 76ers was more about missing games due to various reasons than actual basketball.
In return, to get Jaylen Brown effectively stretched their championship window over the next few seasons. Sure, Joel Embiid is the biggest domino of them all. His health has a direct impact on the team’s performance, and that is what LeBron James will focus on during his discussions.
If he can convince his Paris Olympics teammate to commit to a proper conditioning regimen, the sky is the limit for this team. Then, maybe, LeBron James can add one more ring to his collection.
