Jannik Sinner is into his first Grand Slam final of the season at the Wimbledon Championships. The Italian star is set to defend the title against Alexander Zverev, who won the French Open last month. This will be the fifth meeting between Sinner and the World No.3, and he has beaten Zverev in all four of their past clashes this year.

Zverev has not lost a Grand Slam match since January. The former World No.2 has now won 13 consecutive major tournament matches, and he’s into the final of Wimbledon for the first time in his career. This is his fifth major event final, and he has lost three in the past and won just one. Will he win his second Slam final? Only time will tell.

Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev: Match Preview

Jannik Sinner began the year exiting the Australian Open and Qatar Open before the finals, losing to players ranked lower than him. But March, April, and May were some of his most sublime months on tour. He won 30 consecutive matches and five ATP Tour-level Masters 1000 championships. However, he slumped in the second round of the French Open, losing to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in five sets.

He kicked off his Wimbledon campaign with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(6), 6-2, 6-3 win against Miomir Kecmanović. The World No.1 then defeated Nuno Borges, Jenson Brooksby and Shintaro Mochizuki in straight sets. He got the better of Jan-Lennard Struff 7-5, 7-6(4), 6-3 in the quarter-finals before overcoming seven-time champion Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the final of Wimbledon.

Alexander Zverev, on the other hand, has been in excellent form since the start of the season. He has failed to reach the quarter-finals of a tournament just once in 2026, playing with excellent consistency. The 29-year-old won the Roland Garros, his first major title, last month after defeating Flavio Cobolli in five sets at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

He reached the semi-finals of the Terra Wortmann Open before losing to Taylor Fritz. At the All England Club, he defeated Alexander Blockx 6-4, 6(8)-7, 7-6(5), 7-6(0) in the opening round. The second seed then defeated Valentin Royer and Marcos Giron in straight sets. He overcame Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(6) and Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 and British star Arthur Fery 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4 to reach the final.

Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev: Match Prediction

Jannik Sinner has been the favorite to win the men’s singles at Wimbledon, and that has not changed. As defending champion, he has bounced back from his shocking early loss at the French Open and has not dropped a set since his five-set win over Miomir Kecmanović in the five-set thriller.

He has been in cruise control for a few days now and gave his best performance in the last four weeks against Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. Also, he holds a good record against Alexander Zverev. He has defeated the German star in their last nine meetings on tour and leads 10-4 in their head-to-head record on tour.

The only thing Zverev will be banking on going into his encounter against Sinner is his newfound confidence on the court since winning Roland Garros. The German star seems to be playing without pressure, and that will play a part in his clash against Sinner. However, Sinner winning the Wimbledon singles title is the easy prediction on paper.

Match Prediction: Jannik Sinner to win in five sets.
