It has been a long time since Tyler Herro was in the spotlight. He made a name for himself in his rookie season after being drafted by the Miami Heat as the 14th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. During the playoffs that year, he surprised everyone with his fearlessness and impressive shooting ability.

Following his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks, Herro was involved in an altercation with his former Heat teammate Bam Adebayo in Las Vegas. Soon after, an unflattering report about his character came out.

Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko shared what opposing coaches and players think of Herro. Based on their opinions, it seems that Herro is not a beloved figure around the league.

According to players and coaches who have competed against the 26-year-old Herro, he’s been described as cocky and someone who consistently attempts to rile up opposing players by talking trash and insinuating he’ll fight them. Same boring tough-guy sh*t.

Herro’s trade to the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo saw his seven-year stint in Miami come to an end. After his trade to the Bucks, he was on the receiving end of a punch in the face from his former teammate Bam Adebayo. It was reported that Herro shared some messages taking shots at Adebayo which did go down well with the big man.

Based on Iko’s report, it looks like many within the league do not view Herro in high regard. During the 2025-26 regular season, he got involved in a back-and-forth with Kevin Durant. However, it is also common for negative reports about players to come out after getting traded, as seen in the case of Jaylen Brown after his blockbuster trade.

Fans react to Tyler Herro being described as cocky by opposing coaches and players

Tyler Herro has been involved in several scuffles and altercations during his career. However, it is not something exclusive to the 26-year-old. It’s not all that uncommon for players to try riling up opponents.

Fans took to social media to express their opinions on the report of Herro being described as cocky by other members of the league.

While some fans agreed that Herro is an agitator, trash-talking is not new in the league. Hence, it is a common trait in most professional athletes.

Tyler Herro should have kept his mouth shut about Bam Adebayo

Tyler Herro and Adebayo spent seven years together as teammates in Miami. During their time together, there seemed to be no signs of any friction between them. They were expected to take up bigger roles after Jimmy Butler‘s departure last year. Unfortunately, they faced criticism for their unimpressive performances last season.

Former NBA All-Star Joe Johnson called out Herro after his messages about Adebayo got leaked.

I like Tyler Herro, I like his swag, I like everything about him. But hey bro, you go talking about guys some of them dudes gonna make you eat them words you talking about. Keep your mouth shut and keep my name out your mouth.

While Herro never intended for any of his messages to go public, it backfired badly on him. It is possible that he carried the attitude that opposing players spoke about into his altercation with Adebayo.
