Draymond Green knows a thing or two about punching. That is why he decided to give his opinion on the Bam Adebayo–Tyler Herro incident, while also dragging Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem into the mix.
It so happens that the punching incident between the now two former Heat teammates led many to question whether there was growing resentment within the squad.
Since Haslem is legendary for diffusing such situations in the past, Green decided to rope him into the conversation. The Warriors star felt that the 46-year-old is at fault for not helping the Heat Culture ensure that none of this happens.
I see some things just don’t change. lol. You was on sucka s**t four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole, and you on sucka s**t now… If you think your big 32-year-old, 3 or 4 rings at the time having a** swinging on a 23-year-old Jordan Poole at the time is the same, then you are even more delusional that I thought.

The three-time champion essentially clapped back at Draymond Green for dragging him into the Adebayo-Herro punch-up. The Warriors star was trying to call out Haslem for his comments when the former punched Jordan Poole back in 2022.
@Money23Green I see some things just don’t change. lol. You was on sucka shit four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole and you on sucka shit now. I usually don’t engage but since you went so far left to get my attention here it is!!!

If you think your big 32 year old, 3 or…
Haslem made it clear that the two incidents are different and that he or his leadership had nothing to do with his former teammates going at each other at an AAU game. Rather, Green punching Poole was a lot worse than what Adebayo did to Herro.
Draymond Green provoked Udonis Haslem by questioning his leadership
Udonis Haslem is known to have a sharp tongue. But ever since he took up his new job as an analyst for Amazon Prime Video, he has been keeping that tongue on a leash, knowing how it could blow back on him. But something must have been said that pushed him to take off the reins for a short while.

This is two guys Udonis Haslem raised… If you raised this young guy in the light of what you was saying about me, and now he punches this other young guy, that y’all kind of co-raised, are you going to have that same energy?
Draymond Green said on his namesake podcast
The four-time champion first reminded his viewers that Haslem was one of those who criticized him when his Jordan Poole punching incident came to light.

"I found it quite amusing that they got into it…(Udonis Haslem after Jordan Poole incident) came out and he like 'that's ridiculous, you get into with your young guy, I would never'… This is two young guys Udonis Haslem… pic.twitter.com/dyYi248XdF
Now, Draymond Green questioned whether the former Heat center would have the same response toward both Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.
When considering that Haslem has somewhere helped nurture both of them during his time with the Heat, Green believes the now-analyst should get back at his former understudies in the same manner he did to the former Defensive Player of the Year.
Udonis Haslem urges Draymond Green not to compare themselves
After initially shooting off on X, Udonis Haslem felt it was the perfect topic to restart his podcast with former teammate Mike Miller. When the latter picked up this topic, the Miami native said:
Draymond boy, you outta pocket… Can you imagine me swinging on Herro?… I’d never forgive myself… I’m sure a lot of these young guys around the league are looking at Draymond like ‘Yo, cmon man we look up to you.’ — Right now Draymond picking and choosing who he f**king with and he’s trippin.
Udonis Haslem said on the OGs Show
Haslem made it clear that he would never swing at a younger teammate like Draymond Green did. Rather, he knew his role was to nurture and protect the younger players, and even make them fall in line, as he did with Jimmy Butler.

Therefore, it was wrong for Green to compare them. However, the Florida Gator alum remarked that Green’s past incidents indicate that he is smart about who he chooses to fight. That is not what happened between Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.
