Jannik Sinner is enjoying some much-needed downtime following his successful run at Wimbledon. The Italian ace came from a set down to defeat Alexander Zverev, becoming the 10th man to defend the title at the All England Club in the Open Era.

Sinner, who also clinched his 10th consecutive win over Zverev and improved his head-to-head record to 11-4, lifted his sixth title of the season, following back-to-back victories in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, and Rome. But at the French Open, he was hit by severe cramps and eventually lost in five sets to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the second round.

After Paris, he did not compete in any event prior to Wimbledon, and this made him the eighth man in the Open Era to win the title at SW19 without playing in a grass-court event. Sinner will next be gearing up for the North American hardcourt swing, where he could start his campaign at the Canadian Open, which he won in 2023 but skipped last year.

But at present, Sinner is unwinding. Recently, a clip of the 24-year-old’s golf outing has been making the rounds on social media. His fans very well remember his struggles with the golf club, as he once failed to strike the ball, and this left his dad, Hanspeter Sinner, in stitches.

But this time, he was successful in tapping the ball into the hole. Sinner was on top of the world after this success and recreated soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo‘s iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration.

Sinner is on a 34-match winning streak in Masters 1000s that started at the 2025 Paris Masters. If he wins in Montreal, Cincinnati, Shanghai, and Paris, he will become the first man in history to complete the Golden Masters. His win in the home Masters 1000 in Rome made him the second man after Novak Djokovic to complete the Career Golden Masters.

Jimmy Connors picks who is the tougher to beat between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz has not played on the tour since the Barcelona Open as he injured his wrist, which forced him to skip both the French Open and Wimbledon. As per reports, the seven-time Grand Slam champion, who withdrew from the Canadian Open, could make his comeback at the Cincinnati Masters, where he received a walkover from defending champion Jannik Sinner in the final last year.

Jimmy Connors believes Alcaraz’s absence has benefited Sinner. On his Advantage Connors podcast, he also picked who between the World No.1 and the World No.3 is the tougher to beat when they are healthy.

He has taken advantage of Alcaraz not playing. And you know what, it’s not his fault. He goes about his business and takes care of his job, which is getting through his part of the draw. And whoever gets in the way, he’s just kind of moving them aside. I mean, his (Sinner’s) game, whether Alcaraz is in there or not, is still, from my standpoint, the one to beat.

Alcaraz and Sinner have so far met just once. They clashed in the Monte Carlo final, which Sinner won, which helped him dethrone Alcaraz from the No.1 ranking.

I know Alcaraz mixes it up and does a few different things than he does. But man, is he (Sinner), for a big guy, the way he moves around the court, and the firmness and the power with which he hits his groundstrokes, pretty impressive, very impressive.

Alcaraz, apart from Monte Carlo, has also played the Australian Open and the Qatar Open finals, defeating Novak Djokovic and Arthur Fils, respectively. Alexander Zverev‘s run to the Wimbledon final saw Alcaraz drop to the third position in the rankings table.
