Kendrick Perkins Demands Giannis Antetokounmpo Throw LeBron James a Recruiting Pitch: “You Don’t Waste These Moments”

The days go by, and everyone is still waiting for LeBron James to announce where he’s signing next. After recent rumors, it seems that there is a chance that he plays alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo next season.
The Miami Heat were not in the fray until they completed the trade for the Greek Freak. That deal solved two problems for the franchise with the arrival of another superstar and the departure of a few pieces who could have been detrimental to the King’s arrival.
After a year playing third fiddle to his Lakers teammates, the 41-year-old has made it clear that he wants to go to a situation where he can dictate the play. That ball-hogging situation is exactly why the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers are not considered to be good basketball fits for the King.
On top of that, Pat Riley‘s ‘land another plane’ remark left many believing that the league’s all-time leading superstar is headed to South Beach. However, nothing is set in stone unless James reveals his decision. On that note, Kendrick Perkins wants Giannis Antetokounmpo to take full advantage of the time at hand and throw a recruiting pitch.
It better happen. Giannis better get uncomfortable if he’s trying to get LeBron James… James wants to feel loved… Giannis is on the clock… You don’t waste these types of moments. You don’t have regrets.

The former center was responding to First Take host Courtney Cronin‘s question whether the two-time league MVP should throw a recruiting pitch to LeBron James. From his answer, it is clear that Perkins wants the superstar not to waste this opportunity.
Giannis Antetokounmpo said he will not throw LeBron James a recruiting pitch
First Take discussed this topic after Giannis Antetokounmpo claimed, during an interview, that he will not be throwing a recruiting pitch to lure LeBron James to Florida.
I don’t think I’ll pitch anything to him. I feel like in his career he always made good decisions. That’s what history has shown. Everywhere he’s been, he’s won. If he believes the Miami Heat organization is a good decision for him and his family, he should make that decision… For me, having a guy like that it will be wonderful to learn from, to pick his brain.

The 31-year-old believes that the 22-time All-Star has enough intelligence to make a decision without needing recruiting pitches. Whatever he has decided in the past has worked out, which is why Antetokounmpo does not feel the need to do so.

Every team in the race to sign James has sent pitches to him, either publicly or via text and voice memos. In the case of the Heat, only Pat Riley has openly talked about the possibility of signing him.
Otherwise, both Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have relatively stayed silent. That is why Kendrick Perkins stated that he wants the 2021 Finals MVP to do what is needed to lure the four-time champion.
LeBron James’ former Heat teammate wants him to return to the franchise
While other teams are reportedly still in the running, most of the indications and predictions are that LeBron James is probably heading back to the Miami Heat. When former teammate Chris Bosh was asked about the four-time league MVP‘s next destination, he replied:

I said it before… If I were him, I would go to Miami… When you’re older – when you’re ready to retire – you go to Miami… One, he can play his game, play golf. He’s familiar with the space. I think him, Giannis, and Bam is a very interesting pairing, and I think it just fits.

Bosh knows what it is to play and win in the city, having done it with James and Dwyane Wade two years in a row. He believes that the setup in South Beach and the basketball aspect of the franchise make it the best option for James to return.
