LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James, showed her support after the NBA legend announced his decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers.
James announced his move on July 24, following weeks of speculation about his NBA future. He has agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option, according to ESPN.
Shortly after the announcement, Savannah reposted an Instagram Reel shared by her husband to her Instagram Story. The video featured highlights from James’ illustrious career, including his selection in the 2003 NBA Draft, his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers, and the three Olympic Games in which he helped Team USA win gold.
Savannah and James are high school sweethearts from Akron, Ohio. The couple married in 2013 and have three children together: LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., Bryce Maximus, and Zhuri Nova.
James explained his decision in a post shared on X and Instagram. He said he initially believed he had played his final game after the season ended but took time to decide whether he still wanted to continue his NBA career.
I thought I was done when the season ended. I wasn’t ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game. I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game. I still truly love this game, and I have more to give. The last few weeks have really been special. I’ve never been able to have no clue what to do and take real time to just think. I’ve had an incredible few months with all the people I love, trying to figure it all out.

The four-time NBA champion also made clear that his decision was driven by his desire to continue competing for another championship. He said he believed he could help the 76ers become a championship contender and thanked the teams and cities that played a major role in his career.
Caitlin Clark reacts to LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark also reacted to LeBron James’ move while speaking with the media ahead of All-Star weekend.
Clark revealed that she had hoped James would join the Golden State Warriors and team up with Stephen Curry. She also said Philadelphia has enough talent to be considered one of the leading teams in the Eastern Conference.

No way! I just pitched him for the Pacers, the 76ers? Wow. Selfishly, I wanted the Warriors because Steph and Bron would’ve been absolutely insane together. But they have some serious talent on the 76ers. Arguably maybe one of the favorites in the East now. I thought he was either gonna go Miami or Cleveland… but I’ll be watching more 76ers games and obviously I’m a big fan of Bron. I’m gonna go wait for the NBA schedule to come out and make sure I have my tickets reserved for when the 76ers come play the Pacers… but happy for him.
