Every day brings a new update, leaving everyone who follows basketball more confused about where LeBron James is going to go. In the past few days, the rumor mill had him going to the Miami Heat.
Pat Riley‘s suggestion that they have ‘another plane to land’ and his confirmation that he has put his beef with the King behind him fueled the belief that the latter was headed back to South Beach.
Then came a report from the same journalist who first broke the news that the Golden State Warriors were after James and Anthony Davis. At that time, many dismissed it as an improbable situation, but when ESPN confirmed the news, Kevin O’Connor seemingly got the respect he wanted.
His latest report suggests that the four-time champion is waiting to see whether one of the teams he is interested in can land either Davis or Kyrie Irving. If anything, that would lead to an even longer delay.
My sources tell me that LeBron James, his agent Rich Paul, that inner circle, they’re not waiting for another domino right now. They’re not waiting for Anthony Davis to get traded anywhere. They’re not waiting for anyone else to move around anywhere.
Shams Charania revealed on the Pat McAfee Show
This time it is clear that ESPN’s lead insider is not backing O’Connor’s claims. Rather, Shams Charania pointed out that, according to his sources, nothing of that sort is delaying James’ decision.

In fact, the reporter made it clear that had there been any demands from the latter’s end, teams would have been scrambling to make it happen. But no sort of chatter is being heard, which means neither Davis nor Irving is on the trade block.
Shams Charania reiterates Warriors are no longer in the hunt for LeBron James
A day or two after the first rumors of the Warriors going after Anthony Davis to satisfy LeBron James came out, another insider, Chris Haynes, confirmed that the Wizards were not interested in any trade for their superstar center.

However, with Kevin O’Connor’s latest report, many felt that the trade might be back on track. However, Shams Charania shut it down as soon as host Pat McAfee asked about it.
The Warriors’ conversation, that was definitely alive right before free agency started. That’s why Draymond Green opted out… But that was done to give the Warriors the flexibility to try to get LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Those conversations for AD have gone nowhere for the Warriors… I don’t think that’s gonna be a conversation.
Shams Charania revealed
He stressed that, to complete the deal, the Warriors would have to give up significant draft capital and some players. For a team that is trying to compete with its own Big 3 of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler, it would be illogical to give up that much even if it meant getting LeBron James for a couple of years. Therefore, they are likely out of the race.
LeBron James is holding up another player’s job
Adam Silver has already made it clear that he wants LeBron James to hurry up so that the league can release its schedule. But it seems that logistics are not the only things the father of three is holding up.
There’s a guy right now abroad by the name of Mario Hezonja. He’s coming from the EuroLeague back to the NBA. He was a high draft pick several years ago. He is being held up by LeBron James.

This was when Charania was revealing how other free agents are waiting until the four-time league MVP. Until he decides where he wants to play next, those free agents are not going to get a clear picture of where they should head next, and at what salary.
