Amid all the drama surrounding the Indiana Fever, the best way to silence that noise is to keep them playing at a high level. When a game against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings comes around, it gives Caitlin Clark and her teammates the best chance to change the discourse.
The Wings may have injuries to a few key players that have caused them to lose three games in a row before managing to win one against the struggling Toronto Tempo.
Still, Clark and her teammates didn’t want to take chances and stayed within striking distance of the Wings in the first half. But in the third quarter, the away team upped the ante and surged into a comfortable lead.
Somehow, this lit a spark in the superstar point guard, and she started taking over. Steals, layups, and her long-range three-pointers helped Caitlin Clark start a run that flipped the game on its head.
By the end of the night, her 20 points in the second half helped the Indiana Fever win their third straight game. After such a superlative performance, her head coach had nothing but praise for the playmaker.
Sometimes you just catch yourself smiling… She keeps people on their toes… That keeps teams honest. She’s like a maestro… It’s tough to match up with us when she’s commanding the floor.
Stephanie White told reporter

Head coach Stephanie White was smiling throughout her answer, indicating just how impressed she was with Clark taking over in that second half, something that had to happen after choking in the same period two games ago.
Caitlin Clark’s teammate showers her with praise
After Stephanie White gave her interview, the players took the dais. While sitting alongside Caitlin Clark, backup guard Ty Harris was asked how she felt about her teammate’s performance.
I’m in awe watching CC play. Sometimes it’s like it’s normal and — it’s not. So, it’s just great to be on her side officially.
Ty Harris replied
The 28-year-old was a part of the Dallas Wings team last year before Stephanie White, her former coach at the Connecticut Sun, asked her to join the Fever.

That is why Harris stated that she has already witnessed what Clark can do while playing against her. She is happy she no longer has to face that onslaught.
Harris herself had a perfect game, converting all five of her three-pointers, and received some heady praise from Caitlin Clark herself. But even so, the veteran guard felt the 24-year-old’s performance was a reminder of how out of this world it is, yet somehow makes it seem normal.
Caitlin Clark continues stretching a record
While Caitlin Clark was praised for her second-half effort, her overall performance eventually helped her stretch a record she can proudly claim as her own.

With 29 points and 10 assists tonight in the Fever’s 98-87 win, Caitlin Clark now has 13 career games with 25 points and 10 assists. That includes seven this season alone, which is more than any other player has in their entire career.

This means that no other player in the history of the game has done what the Iowa native managed to amass this season alone. For someone who rated herself a six out of a possible ten, this happens to be a stellar campaign.

But it also shows how she can step up when the going gets tough. If Caitlin Clark continues to perform in this manner, and her fellow teammates do their bit, the Indiana Fever could become a solid contender come playoff time.
