Dillon Brooks has established himself as a “villain” in today’s NBA. The Phoenix Suns star is well known for getting under his opponents’ skin and playing mind games with them. He is the type of player many would like to have on their team.
His international teammate, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is one of the best players in the world at the moment. The Canadian international won his second consecutive league MVP last season but, unfortunately, saw his campaign end in the Western Conference Finals.
Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama is coming off a historic season. In his first-ever postseason, he led the San Antonio Spurs to the NBA Finals but lost to the New York Knicks in five games.
However, Brooks is ready to take on and form a rivalry against the two best players in the league heading into next season.
A little rivalry brewing up. I live for those… If we get him again this year, it’s definitely going to be Shai. Even before he got to like this level, I had his number. But I’m going to give you one more. It’s probably going to be, Wemby. I’m going to get more agitated with him.

Brooks has had his share of rivalries over the past few seasons. The most notable rivalry is with LeBron James. The Suns forward had a few heated exchanges with James last season.
The Suns faced off against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the first round of the playoffs last season. While SGA came out on top with a clean sweep, it has not stopped Brooks from taking shots at the two-time MVP.
However, Brooks does not have his eyes set only on SGA. It looks like he wants a piece of Victor Wembanyama as well. It will be interesting to see how the 30-year-old copes and defends against the Frenchman, given their significant size difference. The matchups when Brooks faces these two stars next season will have the Suns fans on the edge of their seats.
Dillon Brooks downplays his rivalry with LeBron James
Brooks and James have been at it whenever they face off against each other. After the 41-year-old joined the Philadelphia 76ers in the summer, the NBA world will be restricted to just two appearances between the two of them.

When asked about his rivalry with James, Brooks dismissed any such thing between the two.
I love playing against him. And honestly, I feel like it’s not even a rivalry. It’s just like a competitive spirit because I’ve watched him my whole life. So, finally getting to compete against him, and he’s in the end stages of it all. Perfect.

With the 2026-27 season schedule out, Brooks and the Suns will take on James and the 76ers in Phoenix on December 30. To add more excitement to their matchup, the day also marks James’ 42nd birthday.
Dillon Brooks names Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in his top-3 foul baiters in the NBA
SGA has been under the scanner and on the receiving end of endless criticism when it comes to flopping. A few months ago, Dillon Brooks joined hands with Underdog to create a game called ‘Unethical Hoops.’ While explaining the game, Brooks took a shot at SGA and his flopping.
During the interview, Brooks was asked to name his top-3 foul baiters currently in the NBA
My three top foul baiters – Shai, Luka Doncic and Trae Young.

Brooks has been tasked with guarding the opposition’s best players more often than not. Hence, it is not surprising to see him name SGA in his list of foul baiters. There will be high expectations from Brooks next season after his impressive debut campaign for the Suns.
