NASCAR has been looking for their Hollywood moment since Lewis Hamilton backed Brad Pitt racing movie F1 made more than a billion in revenue and helped the premier open wheel racing penetrate the young demographic market. Now with the announcement of Tom Cruise’s Days of Thunder 2, the sport is getting exactly that.

The whole community is involved in the production, including Carson Hocevar. The Spire Motorsport has revealed that he has been involved in the pre-production since January this year. He has enjoyed these moments. The youngster being one of the potential future superstars and one of the most notable faces on the sport at the moment, might’ve played a role in it.

Yeah, it’s been cool for me. I feel like since January, I feel like I’ve been helping them work on that movie. So, it’s been fun for me.

Carson Hocevar said about DOT-2.

Further talking about the point, Carson Hocevar revealed that he has given a lot of input and ideas into the movie over the last few months, including sharing never seen before video clips from the past with the teams. He cherished every moment of his involvement in the movie that is set to be released in the 2028 summer.

And so, yeah, it’s been super cool that I’ve been able to put a lot of my input on the movie and help them out and give them ideas and video clips from real life from the last 20 years that they probably haven’t known existed. Yeah, it’s been very cool.

In the same conversation, the Spire driver also talked about his interaction with Tom Cruise last week Daytona during the drivers meeting, when the movie was announced to the public. He got to have a unforgettable with the Hollywood legend, who recognized him.

So, he was going down with the sailors, kind of glanced over to see if there was another one, saw it was me, looked back, and then realized it was me. And they were telling me, they were like, ‘Yeah, when he sees you, he’s going to recognize you. He loves you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s super cool.’ That’s fun.

One thing in the mind of many of the NASCAR drivers right now is a potential cameo in the Days of Thunder 2 movie. Three times champion Joey Logano wants to do it to get some dad creds while Joe Gibbs Racing’s Chase Briscoe wants do it for fun.

JL: Yeah, are you kidding me — that’s like wicked cool dad points to be in ‘Days of Thunder.

CB: Absolutely, I would love to be. I would think they are going to use some of the drivers. Maybe our car will just be in it, but I would love to be in there.

Many of the Cup drivers or their cars will make the big screen and that would help those team to market themselves to a broader market. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout in the coming days.
