Tony Stewart Blasts “Idiot” Chad Bryant Racing Crew for Corey Heim Fight

The NASCAR Late Model Race last week at Martinsville witnessed one of the wildest post-race fights in recent history. Chand Bryan Racing owner and crew jumped on Corey Heim, who was alone at the track food stand over his late race clash with their driver Treyten Lapcevich.

Ex-champion Tony Stewart was furious with the crew that was involved in the drama and he shared his frustration on the latest episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast. He started his rant about the incident with a sarcastic joke that hit home.

Listen, this is Martinsville. That’s the last place you fight. I’m telling you what, I’d have had beef too. I’m like, I don’t care where y’all fight, but get the hell out of the way, I’m getting two dogs on my way home.

Tony Stewart said about the fight.

He branded the people involved in the fight idiots and insisted that the crew have no right to start a fight with the driver. Tony Stewart would have been okay if it was Treyten Lapcevich that punched Corey Heim, because the driver is allowed to show their frustration but not the bystanders.

I think that guy swinging over the top, that guy’s an idiot. I don’t care who he is. I don’t care where he’s coming from; he has no right to do that. There’s two guys driving the cars.  He wasn’t.

The former Cup champion continued his rant, calling them idiots and called them out for the uncalled-for actions. He then went on to joke about how his post-retirement life now involves just watching clips of all such drama on social media.

What an idiot. Literally what an idiot. I don’t give a ***. They’re idiots. All I do is sit there on Monday because, you know my back’s worn out from all the years of racing. I sit and lay in my recliner, and I’ll get on Facebook and watch clips of stuff.

Tony Stewart exposes a major issue with Late Model Racing teams

Later in the same conversation, the ex-Stewart Haas Racing driver pointed out that the incident exposed a major issue with the Late Model Racing crews. Most of them have this attitude of starting unwanted fights and being more involved in the drama despite the fact that they are not driving.

It’s always pavement late model guys acting like idiots and like the whole crews. It’s like that’s what they keep doing. I don’t know if they really give a **** about winning the race. They just want to win the fight. It’s like two guys. They’re driving these damn things. Walk it off.

NASCAR seems to have a similar opinion on the drama and that might be the reason why they suspended everyone involved in the fight indefinitely. It would be interesting to see how the future is going to playout for Chad Bryant Racing.
