One of the biggest news that broke this week was the announcement that RFK Racing owner driver Brad Keselowski would leave the team at the end of the 2026 season and is searching for a new seat in 2027. There is still some confusion over what will happen to the ownership stake the 2012 champion has on the team.

The No:6 Ford driver talked about his five-year driver contract with RFK Racing not getting extended at Las Vegas and admitted that he is open to any new opportunities that comes to him next year. He is evaluating potential seats in both the second and third divisions, with Spire motorsports’ Truck team reportedly being the favorites.

I’m open to everything. I’m just going to look for the best opportunity that comes at me and then make a decision from there…Absolutely. I’m not ready to divulge any of that yet, but that’s something I’m absolutely interested in. That’s not my only interest, so we’ll see what plays out.

Brad Keselowski said ahead of Las Vegas race.

When asked about his future as a co-owner of the team as well as the de-facto competition director, he refused to give a proper response. Brad Keselowski did confirm that he doesn’t have anything signed for the upcoming season and he is searching for the opportunity that makes the most sense.

Again, I’m not gonna get into all things RFK – not at this time…No, I don’t have anything signed for next year. Like I said, I’m just going to evaluate everything and see which one makes the most sense.

Later in the same conversation, the veteran talked about the emotions over the exit and admitted that there were some moments of anger when the decision finally became a reality. This shows the team and driver had extreme opposite views on his future with the team.

That doesn’t mean that’s the only emotion through the whole process. There have probably been a few moments of anger over the last few weeks as the realities of this have become clearer, but I’m in a good spot now.

Brad Keselowski asserted.

RFK Racing has no plans to make Brad Keselowski’s next racing chapter much harder

In the same day, FK Racing president Chip Bowers talked about the situation that led to the exit, highlighting how Keselowski wanted to race more than lead that team. He also admitted that the team has no plans to make the exit hard for the veteran by activating the non-compete clause and refuse him the opportunity find a seat with a rival OEM.

We’re not going to hold Brad captive. We want, like I said before, this is not acrimonious. If Brad would like to go race somewhere else, if Brad would like to be an owner somewhere else, if Brad would like to lead competition somewhere else, he’s more than happy to do so.

Chip Bowers said.

The comments from the veteran racer and the team official are on point. It shows how tough was the situation they found themselves in with the uncertainty over Keselowski’s racing future. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the coming days.
