Cam Ward has struggled to play his natural game since transitioning to the NFL, but his teammates haven't given the best of support as well.

Analysts are pointing fingers at Cam Ward for the Tennessee Titans’ 0-5 start to the 2026 NFL season. The Titans are, in fact, winless in six games, dating back to the final day of last season.

TJ Ward is not buying the narrative that Cam Ward is the sole reason for the Titans’ miserable run. Ward blames the entire Titans roster for the failures—from the offensive line to special teams—and wants the Titans players to back their quarterback, who is only playing his second year in the NFL.

Ward believes the offensive line isn’t giving Cam enough time to find receivers, and the running backs are struggling to put together long runs. The defense also isn’t making it easier for Cam.

Despite the presence of All-Pro DT Jeffery Simmons, the Titans aren’t getting enough sacks or applying enough pressure on quarterbacks to win games. This made Ward to make a comment.

Everybody’s pointing the finger at Cam Ward and it’s not Cam Ward’s fault that his entire team can’t win games.

Is Cam Ward the sole reason for the Titans’ misery?

TJ Ward does make some valid points. The offensive line ranks 23rd in the latest PFF rankings, or the 10th worst in the league after five games. The only encouraging factor is JC Latham, who has put together four straight games with a PFF pass-blocking grade above 65.0.

As a result, the Titans offense ranks last in total points per game (12), 31st in yards per game (259.6), 30th in passing yards per game (164), and 31st in third-down conversion (31.9%). They also rank 26th in rushing yards per game (83.0).

Then again, TJ Ward may not know Cam Ward has been the least blitzed quarterback in the NFL. Per the Sharpe Football Analysis, Cam Ward has been blitzed on only 20.5% of dropbacks.

He has also been pressured on only 30.9% of dropbacks. Despite that, the QB ranks 35th in YPA (5.8), 34th in EPA (-0.20), and 35th in explosive gain rate.

Per NFL Next Gen Stats and ESPN’s Turron Davenport, Cam Ward has averaged a league-low 2.6 yards per attempt when under pressure this season, completing just 13 of 34 such passes for 89 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

The former first overall draft pick is also the only quarterback among 29 qualifiers to throw for fewer than 100 yards when under pressure. He takes an average of 3.99 seconds to throw the ball.

Ward has completed 98 passes for 896 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions this year. The Titans are 0-5 and are 4.5-point underdogs against the 2-3 Colts. The Titans are winless in the fixture in six meetings (home and away).

A reporter asked Ward whether he has become accustomed to losing. Ward reminded them he won games with Miami in college.

If you’re able to look at everybody in our locker room’s track record, we all won games at a high level. We’re looking forward to doing that in the long run.

Cam Ward replied

Ward went 10-3 with the Hurricanes in his final year of college. He threw 305 completions, 4,313 yards (school record), 39 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.
