“I wanted to kill that guy,” Michael Bisping looks back on his feud with Jorge Rivera at UFC 127

Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera face off
Michael Bisping is undoubtedly on the Mt. Rushmore of talking smack. The former UFC champion revisits his memories when things went too far between him and his rivals.
Michael Bisping was always known for his trash-talking but the fighter rarely crossed the lines which meant going at someone’s personal life. Of all the opponents that have fought against Bisping, Jorge Rivera can say that he actually got under the British fighter’s skin. In a recent episode of his podcast, “Believe You Me” Michael spoke about how badly he wanted to kill Jorge Rivera.
“The one that pis**d me off the most is Jorge Rivera. I wanted to kill that guy…We talked about it at length many many times but yeah, that definitely got in my head and that little d**khead coach that he had, I forget his name but yeah, there you go, Jorge Rivera,” said Michael Bisping.

According to Rivera and his team, they wanted to somehow bait Michael into taking the fight so they went to the limits of abusing the fighter. Eventually, Bisping did take the fight but it came at a cost. At UFC 127, Bisping and Rivera shared the octagon and “The Count” TKO’d Jorge in the second round. Things didn’t end there as Bisping went on to spit to return the favor of disrespect towards his rival.
However, Bisping spoke to Ariel Helwani in the post-fight interview, apologizing for his actions, and saying emotions got the better of him. “I was spitting on the floor just to let him know what I thought of him. I apologize for that, I never wanna act like that. I apologize for losing my cool. He said a lot of things, he mocked me for the world to see and I tried to bite my tongue and take the higher ground but once I started letting my fists fly, it was like the floodgates of emotion opened and it all came boiling out. I didn’t mean to spit though. So, I do apologize for that whole-heartedly,” said Michael.
