Michael Schumacher is a legend of Formula 1 which every rookie looks up to and desires to become. He dominated the sport like never before. The German went on to retire as a seven time champion of Formula which was a feat that had never been achieved before. He was enjoying his life away from the sport when his life almost came to an end following a horrific crash during a Ski trip to Switzerland in 2011.
His life hung in the balance but his family especially his wife Corinna played a huge role in keeping him life. He continues to recover still. Apart from being arguably the greatest of all time, he was also a visionary. He recognized greatness like most greats do. Michael Schumacher regularly went to karting events to encourage and motivate the kids to continue to work hard because dreams do come true.
It so happened that in one of the karting events, Michael Schumacher came across this fiesty 16 year old, Lewis Hamilton, who was had set the track on fire at that tender age. Michael Schumacher knew at the very moment that a star is in the making because what the Ferrari great had witnessed comes around in a decade or maybe more.

Michael Schumacher acknowledged what he had seen in front of his eyes and made his feelings known in an interview which he did back in the day. He said, “He’s a quality driver, very strong and only 16. If he keeps this up I’m sure he will reach F1.”
“It’s something special to see a kid of his age out on the circuit. He’s clearly got the right racing mentality.”

Michael Schumacher has been a true student of the game and also a visionary of the sport. The German has been an idol for greats like Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton. He literally predicted the future of a 16 year old bursting on the scene. That was the greatness of the game. We wish him a speedy recovery and a return to formula 1 in a different role.
