“It’s the Miz”: Former World Champion reveals his retirement plans

The A-lister

The Miz is one of the very few Superstars whom the WWE Universe loves to hate. Having signed with the company in 2004, he has now been with the company for nearly two decades. The A-lister has impressed the entire WWE Universe not only with his character work as a Heel – but is an equally impressive in-ring performer.

Last year, The Miz went on to become the first ever and so far the only, two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion. Since the last two Wrestlemanias, his focus has been to elevate the celebrity performers. While last year he feuded against Grammy-award winning rapper Bad Bunny, this year he teamed up with YouTuber Logan Paul at Wrestlemania 38.

The 2-time WWE Champion recently appeared for an interview with The Detroit News, where he was asked about his retirement plans. The A-lister revealed that he hasn’t thought about retirement yet and is focussed on elevating the celebrity performers.

“Not yet. My goal, whenever a celebrity comes in, is not to have them just sit on the sidelines and watch me work. What the fans paid to see is, is Logan Paul going to be able to do this? And I want to be able to give fans that answer, whether it’s positive or negative. So I’m going to push whichever celebrity is out there to be their absolute best,” said the former WWE Champion.

During the same interview he was asked about being the most hated or popular Superstar. The former WWE Champion didn’t mince he words and mentioned that this would be based on opinions.

“You’re never going to be the most popular, you’re never going to be the most hated, you’re never going to be the most, because everyone has a different opinion. One guy will say Shawn Michaels is the greatest, another will say Hulk Hogan, or The Rock, or Stone Cold Steve Austin. One guy might even say The Miz! But it’s my job to make sure more people, each and every time I’m out there, says, it’s The Miz,” mentioned the A-lister.

Former All Elite Wrestling Superstar Cody Rhodes made his thunderous return to WWE at Wrestlemania 38. He will next be seen in action on Raw this week. This will be Rhodes’ first match in six years on the Red brand.

This match has been announced without any feud between The Miz and Cody Rhodes. But it is expected that Seth Rollins will be attacking either of the Superstars during the match – furthering the feud between the Monday Night Messiah and the American Nightmare.
