Zach Wilson
Zachary Kapono Wilson is a young and talented quarterback from Utah. He played college football at BYU and impressed one and all with his top-class performances. In fact, he was named the bowl game MVP on two occasions.
It was evident that he will be roped in by an NFL franchise which is exactly what happened in 2021. He was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft. Although he didn’t post incredible numbers last season, several top experts have high hopes for him for the upcoming season.

“I am not a poster boy for church”: Zach Wilson

However, recently, Zach got himself involved in a controversy. In an interview with Deseret News, Zach talked in detail about his religious beliefs. Although he admitted that he believes he is a Mormon but refused to be treated as a representative of the faith.
“It is not something I am against, it is just that I didn’t grow up active in the church,” he had said. “I’m not that ‘poster boy’ for the church. … I was never really a churchgoer my whole life, just not involved much in it. My family and I hold the same morals and values that the church does, for sure, but I really didn’t know a lot about the teaching and stuff until I got to BYU,” he had added.
However, recently, a video went viral on Twitter in which Wilson was spotted cracking a joke about Mormon leader Joseph Smith. “You throw like Joseph Smith is telling you plays from the sidelines,” the guy can be heard in the video before Zach Wilson says, “Joseph Smith was fu*king 100 b*tchs so.”
As reported by Sideaction.com, Zach even reached out to them in order to get the video removed. These are still early days for Zach at the highest level and at this time, he might find himself in troubled waters if he utters such stuff.
