“Fake as Hell” Chael Sonnen suggests Anderson Silva’s fight was fixed

Anderson Silva was called out in a cryptic tweet by Chael Sonnen
Chael Sonnen wasn’t known as the bad guy for pretense’s sake. Anderson Silva has first-hand experience of it. In a career spanning more than two decades, Sonnen was able to more often than not land himself in the perfect position for a fighter based on his gift of gab alone. Now, as a retired martial artist the bad guy persona has toned down to act more corporate for commentator roles but Chael can’t seem to help himself and does occasionally drop a few trash talk gems here and there.
The latest victim of his verbal assault? Former UFC middleweight champion and guy Chael definitely beat twice (certainly in his mind) Anderson Silva. Silva has transitioned into boxing ever since he retired from MMA in late 2020. The transition has gone more smoothly than anyone had ever expected with silva outshining former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez in his return to boxing. In his follow-up bout, Silva took out former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz in the very first round.

Chael Sonnen suggests Anderson Silva’s knockout over Tito Ortiz was fixed

Everyone who watched the fights gave silva props for looking so effortless at the age of 47 when most fighters wouldn’t dare step into the ring. Everyone but Sonnen. For those unaware, Silva and Chael have a very rough history where the two beefed for almost 2 years with some harsh words being thrown around. In their first outing, Chael played down Anderson’s vast achievements and said he would pin him to the ground and beat him up. To everyone including Anderson’s surprise, that’s exactly what Sonnen did, beating up the undisputed Champion for 5 rounds straight and getting trapped in a hail-mary submission attempt by the Spider in the fifth round.
For two years since then, Sonnen campaigned for his much anticipated and a deserved rematch with Anderson but was turned down by Anderson every time. The bad blood meanwhile kept boiling with the bad guy once calling out Silva for the rematch with the terms that a victory for Chael would mean Anderson has to leave the division and a victory for Silva would mean Chael leaves the UFC. When the rematch finally materialized, Chael was able to show shades of the first fight in the opening round but it all went downhill from there, ending in a round 2 Silva TKO.
After Silva’s dominant performance in his exhibition bout against Bruno Machado, where he even scored a KD in the 5th, Chael called into question the legitimacy of the fight. On Twitter he said, “The finish to that boxing match was fake as hell” while also suggesting the last one was similarly questionable. Chael means to suggest Anderson’s TKO over Tito was fixed as well. Do you think Anderson Silva is fixing his boxing bouts? Let us know below.
