WWE announces huge Intercontinental Championship match for SmackDown in 2 weeks

Gunther has just been a brute force on SmackDown over the last few months. Ever since capturing the gold back in June against Ricochet, the Ring General is firing on all cylinders. He has overcomed veterans like Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura in the due course. Now, he’s set to welcome an unprecedented challenge towards his way.

Two weeks from yesterday, Gunther wil defend his Intercontinental Title against Rey Mysterio, who earned the right to compete for the title last week. Mysterio battled through the field of superstars like Sheamus, Solo Sikoa and Ricochet and finally gained the victory. Earlier on in the night, the luchadore cracked a deal with Triple H and made his trade to the blue brand.

The masked legend became emotionally torn by the evil activities of his son, Dominik, hence decided to switch brands. We might get a father-son feud somewhere down the road between them and that should be great. Coming back to our point, Mysterio really has a monumental task to take care of coming in a couple of weeks.

Rey has been a 2-time Intercontinental Championship in his WWE career and he knows what it takes to bag the gold. He has taken down several giants throughout his wrestling journey shattering down all the supposed prophecies about himself. He is often termed as “The biggest little man in all of WWE”.

Roman Reigns returns to SmackDown next week

WWE SmackDown will air on FS1 next week and they know the market size of that domain. As a matter of fact, the promotion has already loaded up the card for next week’s show. The Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns returns to FOX, also the Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will issue an open challenge for the title.

In some other listings, Legado Del Fantasma will face Hit Row and a mystery partner. Also, the Brawling Brutes go up against Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa. We saw last night how The Bloodline traumatized the Celtic Warrior, launching a post-match ambush over him. By the looks of it, the Samoan family is growing more stronger every week and sky seems to be the limit for them.
