“It doesn’t really matter, a second or third,” Max Verstappen on his chances of finishing 2nd in the F1 rankings
Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen is one of the brightest talents in the Formula 1 circuit at the moment. Many F1 fans and pundits have tipped Verstappen to take over the reigns of the Formula 1, once Hamilton hangs up his boots. At 22, he is the only racer on the circuit who has consistently been on the podium this season alongside the impeccable Mercedes drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
However, he has fallen short of the World championship title by a long mile, being almost about 140 points behind the already crowned world champion, Lewis Hamilton. He does stand a chance to topple Bottas for a 2nd place finish, but the Dutch driver has claimed that it does not really matter who finishes 2nd or 3rd, if Lewis Hamilton has already won the title.
“We’ll see,” Verstappen said, when asked about his chances of catching Bottas. “It doesn’t really matter, a second or third.”I just want to have a good result. If it means that at the end you are third in the championship, but you had a few positive races to finish the season, I’m happy with that.”
I’m confident that it can be good: Verstappen on the upcoming Baharin Grand Prix

Max Verstappen is confident of a good show at the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend. This is one of the two races to be held in Bahrain, in consecutive weeks. With just 3 races left for the 2020 season to end, the Dutch driver is hopeful of a strong finish. He also admitted that the Red bull team knew from the onset that he was not a title contender.
“First race I think was quite clear that we were too far off,” he said. “And why? I mean, that I don’t know, because otherwise we would have changed already, if we knew why. I think everyone is working very hard, there is no question about that. But a lot of teams are working very hard, of course, and we still have some catching up to do, but it’s difficult to pinpoint why.”
He also admitted that there were a few positive changes in the car, which is looking to test in the upcoming races. “I mean, it’s always difficult to say, because of the conditions, but I tested a few new parts, and they were definitely positive,” he said.”So I’m just looking forward to come here to Bahrain, where of course we have a bit more information already with these cars and the last few years, so I just want to see how it works here. But I’m confident that it can be good,” Max concluded.
