Good news for the Green Bay Packers’ fans as their star quarterback Jordan Love will soon be returning to the training camp. As it’s official, the Packers signed him in the record-breaking deal he sought and became the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.

Contrary to what everyone had expected, his predecessor and former Packers quarterback had quite a surprising reaction. Upon hearing the news of his successor earning a mammoth extension worth $220 million, veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers decided to offer some advice on managing the big money.

But before that, he congratulated the Packers’ star quarterback for the well-deserving deal, in a conversation with Judy Battista and Brian Baldinger this week.

First of all, since you mentioned it, I want to give a shoutout to Jordan Love becoming the highest paid player in the NFL. Jordan, don’t spend it all in one place. But if you do, I still have a house in Green Bay up for sale.

With this remark, the New York Jets quarterback dismissed the notion that he doesn’t like Love and in fact, was truly happy for the success of his successor. According to ESPN, Love is tied with Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow for the highest-paid tag with his new deal, in which he will make $55 million annually and will receive a signing bonus of $75 million.

Fans eager for Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love showdown

While the NFL insider Ian Rapoport urged Love to take his predecessor up on his offer, the Packers signal-caller refused the offer made by Rodgers regarding his house. Nonetheless, fans are eager to see the two face off each other in an NFL match, though the likelihood of that happening in the coming 2024 or 2025 season is close to zero.

The only way fans would see Rodgers and Love against each other could be in the Super Bowl game, but that is to say, they win their conference championships and advance to the big game. Otherwise, fans wouldn’t get to witness these two against each other in a regular season until 2026.

However, the odds of that happening are slim considering the veteran quarterback’s retirement plans. Rodgers has been discussing playing for two or three seasons more before ultimately retiring from football.
