It’s impossible to imagine wrestling without CM Punk in Chicago. Whenever a show is in Chicago, fans in attendance tend to chant Miro‘s name. Similar activities have hijacked WWE events over the years. Lana, one of AEW’s recent signees, is also aware of this phenomenon.
She made her AEW debut at All Out pay-per-view in Chicago. However, people in the company did prepare her for the imminent CM Punk chants that would’ve been rained down on her by the raucous bunch of folks at the United Center. Lana made the revelation while speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight. Though she was very excited about her debut, the butterflies in her stomach would’ve been aching her that very day.
I was really excited. I was so excited to return to wrestling. Especially in Chicago. I love Chicago and I actually debuted in WWE in Chicago. CM Punk had just left so everybody was like ‘Are you going to be okay?! There’s going to be CM Punk chants!’ And I feel like I held my own with Miro.Lana on CVV
Eventually, the fans did not ruin CJ Perry’s moment as she arrived at the aid of her husband, Miro. The latter defeated Powerhouse Hobbs in an earth-jarring clash. The Hot and Flexible diva believes that she held her composure during that high-profile angle with her life partner. Since then, she’s been constantly shoved off by Miro, as he doesn’t want to associate himself with her coquette better half.
Fans caught more CM Punk teases on Raw this week
Since leaving AEW, CM Punk has managed to remain in the headlines. Whether it is for the online fans trying to gather as many hints for his WWE return or his recent visit to Impact’s Bound for Glory. Though he was backstage for the pay-per-view in Chicago, he just spoke to talents who were willing to have a word with him.
Coming back to the most interesting aspect of WWE shows these days, some fans did manage to carve out CM Punk teases during this week’s Raw. At first, Shinsuke Nakamura‘s promo in Japanese, when translated to English, fetched the words, “Set me free.”
Those fall in the lyrics of Punk’s theme song. Moreover, Rhea Ripley uttered a line that added to the narrative of Punk detectors. She said that she has to get something off her chest and that’s exactly how The Best in the World started off his infamous ‘Pipe Bomb’ promo from 2011.
