Chan Sung Jung, The Korean Zombie faces a rejuvenated Brian Ortega at UFC Fight Island 6 on October 17, in a highly anticipated featherweight bout. Brian Ortega is coming after a long hiatus from the UFC due to various injuries. His last fight was against Max Holloway, way back in 2018, which he eventually lost. That loss is the first and only loss Brian has suffered in his professional career. After recovering from a partially torn ACL, Ortega was scheduled to face the Korean Zombie in 2019 and unfortunately Ortega had to pull out due to a knee injury.

Now, that Ortega has recovered, he will be raring to get back into the octagon. Chan Sung Jung, on the other hand last fought in December 2019 against Frankie Edgar, beating him in the very first round. He will be looking to keep the winning momentum running.

Speaking in an interview with The Schmo, The Korean Zombie said, ” I never tried to finish fights, it just happens that way. Ortega is a tough opponent. He’s been hit over 300 times in his last fight against Holloway and he was still standing, so it’s going to be tough to finish him.

Chan Sung Jung also believes that a long gap from fighting will never affect Brian “T-City”. Speaking of this Chan Sung Jung said, “I don’t believe in ring rust too much. I believe Ortega will have more fire and drive after the hiatus, as I did after my layoff.”

There is huge pressure on both the fighters coming into this fight, as a win would bring them definitely closer to a title shot against Alexander Volkanovski who is currently the featherweight champion. FINGERS CROSSED!
