Ever since Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania, fans have had doubts about who he was going to face first. Addressing the question, it was announced on SmackDown that a set of matches will play out to determine the first challenger against the American Nightmare. It all came down to two stars, AJ Styles and LA Knight, who will face each other next week to punch their ticket to Backlash in France.
Both LA Knight and AJ Styles are two of the top stars in WWE today. They had a marquee match at WrestleMania where ‘The Megastar’ walked out victorious. However, it is possible that next week, the Phenomenal One will pull out some trick to ensure that he wins the opportunity. Besides, Styles has been on a vague path ever since his return in December. Plus, WWE will not be planning a Babyface vs. Babyface feud at this point. Therefore, it is highly likely that Styles might take the win.

Furthermore, WWE needs a heel challenger for Cody Rhodes at this point. Rhodes and Styles have never faced each other in the ring. Therefore, it can be a delight for the fans to see the two biggest stars colliding for the biggest prize in sports entertainment. As for LA Knight, he might embark on a quest for the United States Championship. Recently, it was rumored that he might have an incoming feud with Logan Paul in a few weeks.
Overall, the Phenomenal One is highly likely to walk out as the winner next week. Making him lose might affect his character big time. Therefore, WWE will be looking to establish him as one of the top heels in the company heading forward. Only time will tell who is going to win, though. However, it seems fans are all in for this mega match next week on SmackDown.
