Alexander Bublik Reveals the Only Condition to Catch Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
Alexander Bublik has won just one title this season and that came at the Hong Kong Open in January.

- Alexander Bublik acknowledges that Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are currently the top players but believes they can be defeated in non-Grand Slam events.
- Alcaraz and Sinner have experienced losses this season, but their rivalry remains strong as they prepare for the Monte Carlo Masters.
- Bublik's relationship with his father has deteriorated, with unresolved financial disagreements affecting their communication.
Alexander Bublik’s career has moved into a different tier over the past 12 months, but he’s yet to reach the level of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Alcaraz and Sinner are the best players in the men’s circuit and have dominated the tour. They have proven their consistency over time, but Bublik believes there’s a way to defeat the pair on the court.
Sinner and Alcaraz have had some shortcomings this season despite their dominance. They have lost to players outside the Top 10 this year, but their rivalry still remains the best in the men’s circuit. Sinner lost to Novak Djokovic and Jakub Mensik in the later stages of the Australian Open and Qatar Open, respectively.
Alcaraz struggled during the Sunshine Double despite being the favorite to win the titles. He failed to get to the final at the Indian Wells Masters after losing to Daniil Medvedev and then collapsed to Sebastian Korda in the third round of the Miami Open. The two consecutive wins saw his lead at the top of the ATP rankings reduce as Sinner completed the Sunshine Double.
However, Sinner and Alcaraz have not met this season, but their rivalry is already firing up at the Monte Carlo Masters. Alcaraz needs to defend the ATP 1000 title in Monaco to ensure that his place at the top is consolidated. Sinner opted to play at the Monte Carlo Masters rather than take a rest as he aims to win the tournament.
The pair met six times in the court last season, with Alcaraz winning four of them and losing just two. Bublik, during his press conference at the Monte Carlo Masters, noted that Alcaraz and Sinner are untouchable in Grand Slam tournaments but can lose in other events on tour, which gives players a little hope:
Perhaps they’ll correct me, but I think they’re untouchable at the Grand Slams . The only ones to beat Jannik at a Grand Slam have been Carlos and Novak. That’s it, there’s no one else. Nobody is getting close to them. If I put myself in their position, why would I care about anything else? I need to achieve great things, get closer to Federer, to Novak: to achieve that, I have to focus on those tournaments.
Bublik will kick off his clay-court campaign at the Monte Carlo Masters against a rejuvenated Gael Monfils. Sinner crushed Ugo Humbert in the second round of the tournament 6-3, 6-0 to book his place in the third round of the event. Bublik has not had the best start to the season since winning the Hong Kong Open in January.
Alexander Bublik’s father opens up on current relationship with his son
Alexander Bublik reached a career-high ranking of World No.10 in January 2026 after winning his fourth title in less than a year at the Hong Kong Open, which established his reputation as one of the players having a good run on tour. But the Kazakhstan star is not currently in a good relationship with his father, Stanislav Bublik.

Stanislav was Bublik’s coach during his formative years on tour and guided him into the top 50 before they split in 2019. Speaking to Sports, Stanislav has described that his relationship with Alexander has broken down completely, and there’s no more regular communication, as there are unresolved financial disagreements:
To begin with, I’m not the one who doesn’t communicate with him — it’s him who doesn’t communicate with me. These are completely different things. It has nothing to do with tennis. It’s better to ask him. He avoids the topic, saying it’s a family matter. I tried to communicate with him, to get in touch. Last year, during the Miami tournament, he spent 20 minutes with me near the trash can.
The news of a breakdown between father and son doesn’t look good. Bublik, as Stanislav maintains during the interview, said his son believed that there was no need to pay him, while he paid other members of his team. He stressed that Bublik felt that it was his father’s responsibility to help build his career.
