German tennis ace Alexander Zverev has spoken about injuries to Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner as the two players stay out of action over fitness concerns.

The 27-year-old, who has himself been a victim of serious and career-threatening injuries, has said that they are part of the game. Zverev also said that it is a coincidence that two of the best players on the tour have been sidelined with injuries at once.

Talking about the chances of these two superstars at the 2024 Roland Garros, Zverev said that they are the best players if fully fit, and that should be the case when they play at the upcoming Grand Slam tournament. Zverev dove deep into the debates around injuries to players and said that injuries are not new to the game.

He said that the discussion had started again just because two of the best players on the tour had been injured. Notably, there has been a lot of discussion about frequent injuries to top players. There are several reasons being attributed to these problems, but Zverev maintains that such things have been happening for years.

Injuries have been always there. That's the truth. I understand that for you guys Jannik is not playing here is a terrible news, especially the way he's playing this year. We can talk about that (injuries) for hours because at the end we have been talking about that for so many years. Now with Carlos and with Jannik not playing here, the conversation is on the table again. Nothing changes. Just the coincidence that two of the best players of the world are injured today

Alexander Zverev backs Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to do well at French Open

Alexander Zverev wished Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner the best for the 2024 French Open and hoped for them to come to the tournament in the best shape. Zverev said that he looks forward to playing against them at the Grand Slam tournament.

Notably, while both Alcaraz and Sinner missed out on the Rome Masters due to injuries, the two players are expected to be playing at the French Open. Sinner has already started practicing, while Alcaraz is also working hard at Juan Carlos Ferrero’s academy. It is to be seen if the two stars can regain their best form ahead of the mega event.
