Andrei Arlovski set to faceoff against Chase Sherman on the 18th of April at UFC Vegas 24

UFC Heavyweight Andrei Arlovski has answered the short notice call up to meet Chase Sherman on April 18th at UFC Vegas 24. The former heavyweight champion will replace Parker Porter in UFC Apex, Las Vegas. The fight is at the main card of the event. The reasons have not been disclosed as to why Parker Porter has withdrawn from the fight.

The news was first reported by David Van Auken of Fight Bananas. Both the fighters have also taken to their social medias to announce the fight.

Andrei Arlovski is coming off a submission loss against Tom Aspinall from UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Lewis. The Belarusian is a UFC veteran and has had over 50 fights in his career. Andrei has a record of 30-20-0 with 2 no contests in his MMA career.

Prior to that fight, Andrei Arlovski had an amazing 2020 as he came back from his KO loss against Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Arlovski went on to win back to back fights against Philipe Lins and Tanner Boser. The former champion will look to over come his defeat from February in his upcoming fight.

Andrei Arlovski and Chase Sherman will be fighting on the main card that is headlined by middleweight fighters Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum. Chase Sherman is a very a fairly new face to the UFC. The fighter joined the UFC roster back in 2016. The fighter was released in 2018 after his devastating three consecutive losses. He lost back-to-back Shamil Abdurakhimov, Augusto Sakai, and Justin Willis.

Sherman was added back to the roster in 2020. Chase fought in the UFC Fight Night event headlined by Smith vs. Teixeira against Ike Villanueva. The ‘Vanilla Gorilla’ knocked out Ike in the second round and secured his next fight in the UFC.

Andrei Arlovski will not be looking to show any mercy and defeat the newcomer in his next fight. This is a huge fight for Chase as he goes up against a UFC veteran and a former champion. Who do you think will win this fight? Let us know.
