Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray has suggested that his former fitness coach Jez Green can help compatriot Emma Raducanu overcome the frequent injury issues that have been troubling her since she won the 2021 US Open.

However, Murray said that the same was only possible if Raducanu spent enough time with Green. Raducanu, who hasn’t enjoyed great success ever since her maiden Grand Slam win at New York in 2021, is known to have fired several coaches in recent times.

“I think with any coaching relationship, whether it’s strength and conditioning or tennis, it’s kind of making sure that you’re spending enough time with that person to be able to really make a difference,” Murray recently told The Telegraph.

“I think sometimes, unless you really dedicate the time to it is kind of difficult to make a difference. So if they get to spend enough time together, I’m sure that that would be helpful for her. If it’s not Jez, then a strength and conditioning coach full-time, I’m sure, would be helpful,” added Murray.

Recently, Raducanu also retired from the ITF’s prime team event, the Billie Jean King Tennis Cup (earlier known as Fed Cup) due to an injury, after which former British Fed Cup captain Judy Murray slammed the news as “disappointing.”

Meanwhile, Raducanu assured fans on social media that she had been trying everything possible she could to get into shape for the Billie Jean King Tennis Cup.

“so sad to miss being a part of this amazing team in the upcoming BJKC! ? I am really sorry to miss all of you in Glasgow, I was so looking forward to playing on home soil in front of you?? I tried my best to be ready, next time! backing my girls & I’ll be with the team in spirit,” she wrote on social media.
