After masterminding the walloping of the Phoenix Suns, Anthony Edwards couldn’t help but admire the greatness his idol Kevin Durant attained despite the defeat. Ant-Man made this known while addressing the media after the game and admitted at some point, he became a fan watching KD.

He asserted that despite the defensive efforts by Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert, they just couldn’t stop his idol from making a series of buckets. He also ended up tipping his hat for him and calling him the best.

If I'm not mistaken, he made four or five straight buckets like it was nothing. And I became a fan at one point, like I was out there like, 'God damn, he nice.' It's nothing we can do. (Karl-Anthony Towns) was playing great defense, (Rudy Gobert) was playing good defense, and it's just like he don't see you.

The game saw Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant put on a show for the fans at the Target Center and home. Edwards ended the game with 33 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, while KD put up 31 points, seven rebounds, and one assist.

Ant-Man once again proved why he desperately wants to be the best basketball player once his idol retires with his scintillating display. And now that everyone has taken notice, it is up to Edwards and the Timberwolves to keep their head up and take control of the series.

Kendrick Perkins was amazed at the competitiveness displayed by Anthony Edwards in last night’s win over the Phoenix Suns. He compared him to big names like Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden due to his leadership acumen. 

I never played with a young, great player like that! It’s not disrespect to KD, no disrespect to Russ or James Harden. That type of leader, that type of leader. He’s the best young leader that’s a superstar in the league.

Edwards is coming off the back of an impressive regular season with the T-Wolves. He is averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

Furthermore, he demonstrated his leadership skills when he picked up the slack when Karl-Anthony Town got injured. Once again, he demonstrated that he could be the face of the league when his idol and the other greats retire.
