After potentially winning the lightweight title, Arman Tsarukyan would like to get the ‘red panty night’ against Conor McGregor. The Armenian is ready to follow in the footsteps of Khabib Nurmagomedov and use McGregor to reach new heights of fame.
In a recent interview with KPSport, Arman Tsarukyan disclosed his goal of becoming a world-renowned MMA fighter. The fighter shared his plans for defeating McGregor and grabbing media interest just like Nurmagomedov did in 2018.

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor at UFC 229 is the most successful UFC event of all time. Many believe that the rivalry helped the promotion to get millions of new fans, which ultimately helped the sport. In the process, Nurmagomedov also became a global superstar by defeating McGregor via submission.
After his incredible victory at UFC 300, Tsarukyan became one of the leading title contenders to fight Islam Makhachev. The fight will probably take place in a few months if Makhachev remains the champion after UFC 302. So, to replicate what Nurmagomedov did, the Armenian first had to beat the ‘Eagle’s’ student Makhachev next.
Islam Makhachev’s coach believes Arman Tsarukyan is a tough challenge for the champion
Islam Makhachev has yet to defend his title against a proper lightweight fighter. However, his past few performances were nothing short of pure dominance. But many fight fans and experts have mentioned Arman Tsarukyan as one of the biggest challenges for the Dagestani, given their history with each other.
During one of his podcasts, Makhachev’s longtime coach, Javier Mendez, talked about Tsarukyan’s recent performances. The head coach of AKA gym identified ‘Ahalkalakets’ as the toughest challenge for the Dagestani. Here’s what he said;

The first time a young Tsarukyan fought Makhachev, he put up a great fight but ultimately lost the bout. However, it was a short-notice fight, and this time, Tsarukyan didn’t want to take the risk. Nevertheless, the rivalry between both fighters has already garnered immense attention from fight fans, something UFC must have noticed.
