On Wednesday, former San Francisco Giants star Aubrey Huff went ballistic on social media. In a series of posts on X, the 2-time World Series winner dropped huge homophobic rants over the recent Pride Night Controversy.
Every year in June, several teams host Pride Night celebrations at their home stadiums and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Apart from the Texas Rangers, every team in MLB celebrates this night.
On June 12, the Giants held the Pride Night celebration at Oracle Park. During the game against the Chicago Cubs, 3 Giants pitchers, Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker, wrote Bible verses on their pride-themed hats.
Roupp wrote a reference to Genesis 9:12-16 on his cap. Meanwhile, Sam Hentges did not wear a rainbow-themed cap and decided to wear a regular cap.
Reports later revealed that the MLB issued a warning to these players. This development then sparked a huge controversy on social media, with many attacking the league.
I will pay the fines for any @MLB Christian player who wears a Bible verse on their uniform.@MLB is ANTI-CHRISTIAN https://t.co/miAT89eXJu

On Tuesday, ex-Giants star and current President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey spoke with the reporters. While he started by sharing a response from the organization, he refused to answer any further questions regarding the Pride Night controversy and expressed that he would only answer baseball-related questions.

The silence from Posey sparked backlash on social media once again. Huff, who was teammates with Posey and won 2 World Series rings with him, later addressed this backlash.
Huff, however, unleashed a scathing attack and dropped a huge homophobic rant. In a tweet, he first claimed that he knew what Posey actually wanted to say to the reporters.
I can pretty much guarantee you I know exactly what Buster wants to say about having to answer irrelevant non-Baseball questions that pertain to the sexual preference within the LGBTQ fudge packing community.

You know how I know what he wants to say? Because it’s exactly what I,… pic.twitter.com/nEzrSDJJo6
In another tweet, Huff launched more sensitive comments. In this, he blasted the Giants organization and the players for not having Posey’s back.
Watching what the Giants organization has become is pathetic. I blame every single player on that team that hasn’t taken up for their teammates publicly for having the stones to wear bible verses on their hats. Nor having Busters back.

Having said that, Huff then attacked some of the players. He then took shots at Drew Gilbert and Rafael Devers. While he did not name any manager, he expressed that the current manager is “soft” and has “no leadership.“
I want to make this clear. I respect the hell out of Buster Posey. We’ve won World Series, & shared amazing times with the @SFGiants during our tenure as players. And it makes me puke watching him have to be force fed this gay monthly agenda that has somehow weaseled its way into…

This is not the first time Huff has made some huge comments on social media. In 2024, he was involved in a huge spat on X with social media influencer Isabella DeLuca, who exposed a private message from him. He went on to delete his account, but then came back a few days later.
Aubrey Huff claimed that he would make the SF Giants contenders in 3 years as manager
Aubrey Huff had a lot to say on social media on Wednesday. Following some of his scathing attacks, he made a bold claim. The ex-MLB star claimed he would make the team a championship contender within 3 years as a manager.

It has been more than a decade since the Giants last won the World Series. After winning 3 titles in span of 5 seasons, the team has been on a decline.
While they have been down, their rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, have been on the rise. Since 2020, the LA-based side has won 3 titles, including back-to-back championships in 2024 and 2025.
In a tweet on X, Huff boldly mentioned that he would bring back old-school people from the championship era.
My players will learn how to win, play for each other, & take pride in kicking the s*** out of the opposing team. Any player that disrupts the chemistry in the clubhouse will simply be gone or not play for me. He’d rot on the pine. In 3 years I’d have this organization not only in the playoffs…but a World Series contender.

I have zero managing experience in @MLB. Having said that I promise you this…if I would to be hired tomorrow as the new @SFGiants manager this gay bullshit would disappear the next day. Most players would be on the train to AA. And I would hire my own staff.

I would bring…
At the moment, the Giants have Tony Vitello as their manager. He was hired in October 2025 after the team fired Bob Melvin. Under the tenure of Melvin, the Giants went 161-163 in 324 games and failed to finish with a winning record.
Since their 107-win season in 2021, the team has not made it to the playoffs. Before the ongoing series against the Athletics, the Giants were 31-46 for the season. Two successive wins against them have left the team with a 33-46 record, 13 games behind the .500 percentage.
