Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira remains among the most popular fighters on the UFC roster. Pereira’s no-nonsense killer attitude makes him a dangerous fight for anyone in the UFC. However, when things went south, Pereira revealed his actual personality, making admirers respect him more. 

Recently, Alex Pereira‘s speech after his brutal knockout loss to Israel Adesanya went viral. In the video, the Brazilian shows gratitude for everything he has. Even after a devastating loss, Pereira didn’t lose his mind. Moreover, he felt it was a moment to rethink.

This video couldn’t have come at a better time, given Pereira’s ongoing spat with former opponent Jamahal Hill. Unlike Pereira, Jamahal Hill did not take his loss professionally and insulted the champion online. As expected, this didn’t sit well with fans, who made fun of the fighter for his recent antics.

Alex Pereira suffered a devastating loss at UFC 287 but has since recovered. Part of Pereira’s success comes from his humility. Pereira moved up in weight and won the light heavyweight championship. However, the same cannot be said for Pereira’s arch-nemesis, Israel Adesanya.

Israel Adesanya made a perfect comeback after defeating Alex Pereira at UFC 287 with a nasty KO. His next fight came against Sean Strickland, in which he was a major favorite. However, Adesanya underperformed and lost the bout via unanimous decision. It was an absolute shocker, and now the ‘Stylebender’ is eager to get back the middleweight gold.

Adesanya is expected to fight against Dricus Du Plessis for the middleweight championship later this year. When asked about the prediction, Alex Pereira made some interesting revelations. ‘Poatan’ felt Adesanya had changed somewhat.

Being honest with you, like I said before, why the Strickland fight for him would be a hard fight and looking how everything played out, how everything worked, after I fought Adesanya, he changed a little bit. I’m not going to say he’s not the same anymore but he’s been performing a little different, so I don’t even know what to expect.

According to Dricus Du Plessis, the contract remains signed from his end. Izzy recently shared a video on his YouTube channel where he wrote that he will fight Du Plessis at UFC 305. However, the UFC has yet to announce the fight officially. With UFC 305 fast approaching, the promotion will likely make an announcement sooner rather than later.
