Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal voiced her concerns over the alleged breach in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security in Punjab. Prime Minister Modi’s convoy was stranded on a flyover due to a blockade by protesters in Ferozepur. The incident has been the talk of the town as political turmoil intensifies ahead of the polls.

Saina condemned the incident as she took to Twitter to express her concern. “No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists,” Saina wrote.

“You remain noticed with such words and comments,” Saina Nehwal

Rang De Basanti star Siddharth came up with a controversial reply to Saina’s tweet. “Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India,” Siddharth wrote. The tweet was deemed “sexist” by the netizens as it gave rise to a huge uproar on the microblogging site.

The actor came with a clarification but it turned out to be a bit too late as the keyboard warriors continued to slam Siddharth for his poor choice of words. “”COCK & BULL” That’s the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period,” he clarified.

Saina Nehwal shares that she has lost all the admiration she had for Siddharth as an actor. While the Olympic medallist admits that the actor has the right to express his views, Nehwal urged him to choose his words wisely.

I used to like him as an actor but this was not nice,” Nehwal told Etv Bharat. “I am not sure what he meant. He can express himself with better words but I guess it’s Twitter and you remain noticed with such words and comments. If the security of the PM of India is an issue then I am not sure what is secure in the country.
