The long wait surrounding LeBron James and his future has finally come to an end. Ever since it was announced that James would be parting ways with the Los Angeles Lakers after eight years, a number of clubs have lined up to throw their pitches at the free agent. This is the fourth time James has entered free agency in his 23-year career.

After three weeks of rumors swirling around regarding his future, James finally announced that he would be joining the Philadelphia 76ers. He also revealed that this would be the final decision of his career.

Former WWE superstar Ric Flair took to X to announce his new allegiance to the 76ers after James’ signing.

I Have Just Officially Become A Philadelphia 76ers Fan. The Home Of One Of My Closest Friends, Sir Charles Barkley, Who I Met When He Played For The 76ers! Also My Running Mate Allen Iverson, And Now LeBron James! WOOOOO!

Not just James, but it looks like WWE icon Ric Flair has moved on from Laker Nation as well. Flair left no stone unturned in joining the 76ers bandwagon.

The news of James joining the 76ers has shaken the NBA world. Despite his current age, multiple clubs with title aspirations showed interest in the King over the last three weeks.

While some expected him to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Miami Heat, others believed he would join the Golden State Warriors so he could stay close to his family. However, it was the 76ers who won the race in the end.

PV Sindhu’s basketball heart followed LeBron James to the 76ers

There is no doubt that James is still the face of the league after 23 years. The level of noise and rumors generated over the last three weeks has been second to none despite the blockbuster moves of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown in the first two weeks of the month.

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu credited her husband for getting her into basketball and admitted her basketball loyalty has now shifted to Philly after James’ move.

Never thought I’d see the day LeBron left the Lakers. But I can’t lie, my basketball heart just followed LeBron to Philly. If Embiid stays healthy, a core of LeBron, Embiid, Maxey and Jaylen Brown is just ridiculous. LeBron just rewrote the Eastern Conference overnight.

While a number of clubs were linked to James, many expected him to move to the East. Not only will the 76ers see their fortunes changed on the court, but they will see a huge change off the court as well once James arrives.

While she impressed everyone with her resurgence on the court, she surprised her fans with her basketball knowledge. She shared her opinion on the 76ers’ newly assembled squad.

I think the Philadelphia 76ers are absolutely stacked. LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe. That is one of the most complete starting groups we have seen in a long time, and I genuinely believe they have to be the favourites to come out of the Eastern Conference. Can the Knicks upset them? Of course, anything can happen in sport, but I don’t see it. The Sixers have too much experience, too many defensive options and too many people who can decide a game when things get difficult. I genuinely believe this team wins at least one championship and potentially two.

LeBron James will be heading into his 24th season in the NBA. With the likes of Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, and Tyrese Maxey in the lineup, James can pick and choose his moments during games. The 76ers will be heavy favorites from the East heading into next season.
