Krafton's statement
After almost 8 months, the gaming community in India was rejoiced when Krafton Inc. released Battlegrounds Mobile India in its beta phase. Various gamers and streamers across the country were elated after the early access was made available for the players on their official website. BGMI helped the fans to get the same battle royale experience which PUBG gave them few months ago.
However, within just a few days of the early access of the game, there were rumors that the game might again get banned in India as it was found sharing data with Chinese servers which is against the privacy policy of India. Recently, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) also wrote a letter to the IT ministry stating that the game is a threat to India’s privacy. Krafton states that it is fully aware of the recent concerns over data handling in regards to Battlegrounds Mobile India early access test.

Krafton states that, "SIMILAR TO OTHER MOBILE GAMES, BGMI ALSO USES THIRD PARTY SOLUTIONS TO PROVIDE UNIQUE GAME FEATURES. IN THE PROCESS OF USING THESE SOLUTIONS, SOME DATA WAS SHARED TO THIRD PARTIES. BGMI FULLY DISCLOSES THAT THE APP MAY TRANSFER SOME USER DATA, WITH USER'S CONSENT TO THE PRIVACY POLICY AND CHOOSING TO MIGRATE THEIR ACCOUNTS. NO DATA HAS BEEN SHARED IN VIOLATION OF THE PRIVACY POLICY."

As stated in this statement, Krafton admits the speculations of user’s data transfer, however, it works in full compliance with the privacy policy of India. It might send our data to the servers located in India and Singapore to meet legal requirements. In the event of data transfer, Krafton ensures us to take such steps which will give the same level of protection to our data as if it remained in India.
