The eighth match of Big Bash League 2020-21 will take place between Hobart Hurricanes (HBH) and Adelaide Strikers (ADS). The two sides will lock horns at the University of Tasmania Stadium, Tasmania on December 14 from 1:45 PM (IST) onwards. Both the sides will meet for the second time in this tournament as they earlier knocked horns on Sunday.

Hurricanes emerged as victorious in that encounter as they went past the opponents by 11 runs. HBH all-rounder D’Arcy Short won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his scintillating batting performance in the game.

Both the sides are expected to make one change each in this clash. Ben McDermott and Alex Carey would make a return for Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers. As a result, Mac Wright and Harry Nielsen would be left out from the playing XI of their respective franchises. Moreover, Alex Carey will take over the captaincy of ADS from Peter Siddle in the absence of their regular skipper Travis Head.
