The triple threat match between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey was a historic match in its own right. This was the first women’s main event in WrestleMania history. However, the botched ending is still talked about to this day. According to the original plans, The Baddest Women on the Planet was supposed to tap out, but she refused. The winner of the match, Lynch, talked about the incident in an interview.
Becky Lynch spoke with Chris Van Vliet, during which she recalled the main event of WrestleMania 35. She stated that, as per creative producer TJ Wilson, she was supposed to submit Rousey to pick up the win. However, the latter refused to go along with that, as she had never tapped out in her entire career, not just in WWE but in the UFC as well. In addition to that, Rousey claimed that her mother would’ve been disappointed to see her daughter tap out.
The Man further added that she respected her decision and discarded the idea of her tapping out. While the buildup to the match was fascinating, it ended up being underwhelming, mostly due to the overall length of the show. Ultimately, Lynch won the match with a controversial pin on Rousey to become ‘Becky 2 Belts’.
Ronda comes and we tell her the creative, 'You're almost about to tap out.' 'My mom wouldn't look me in the eye or talk to me again if I looked like I was about to tap out.' 'Alright, well, she's probably not going to tap out on the finish then.' She never tapped out in her career. Understood it, respected it, and moved on quickly.Becky Lynch on Ronda Rousey
Ronda Rousey left WWE last year after putting her friend Shayna Baszler over at SummerSlam. Since then, she has made a lot of controversial comments regarding her stint in WWE. Meanwhile, Lynch recently lost to Rhea Ripley in a Women’s World title match at WrestleMania XL.
Becky Lynch cites Mick Foley as her inspiration
Without a doubt, Becky Lynch is an inspiration to a lot of fans around the world. But even the greatest have their own role models, from whom they learn and persevere. For Lynch, it was none other than Mick Foley.

In the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Man talked about her inspiration growing up. At first, she admitted not liking WWE and recalled calling it fake, but when she watched Foley on her TV screen, she was amazed by the way he spoke and his charisma. Lynch further added that he also helped her a lot with writing her book.
I'd see Mick on TV, and I'm like wow... the way he talked and the presence that he had - he was so captivating. I could relate to him because I was this kid who had been teased for being overweight. And also he looked like such a good person.Becky Lynch on Mick Foley via Chris Van Vliet podcast
Becky said he could relate to him being a kid who was teased for being overweight. They both share a lot of similarities, as in her words, they were never seen as the top superstars. Needless to say, just like the Hardcore Legend, Big Time Becks will be a future Hall of Famer once her already-illustrious career comes to an end.
