BGMI: Is Mortal leaving competitive?

Probably everyone who has played Battlegrounds Mobile India or BGMI knows the name of Mortal. He is undoubtedly one of the best streamer as well as player, however, on one of his recent live stream on youtube, fans asked him whether he is leaving competitive and his reply surprised everyone.

Naman Mathur famously known by his in game alias Mortal is arguably one of the finest player of PUBG Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India that the country has ever seen. He has displayed awe striking performances in several major tournaments of PUBG Mobile and has greatly contributed to take his Team, Soul into an established position. After the arrival of BGMI, he shifted towards the game, however his recent performances in official and unofficial tournaments have not been up to the mark.

BGMI: SouL Mortal’s reply on leaving competitive

Mortal is the owner as well as player of Team SouL. He started his competitive journey with Viper, Ronak and Owais at PUBG Mobile India Series 2019, and surprisingly, Team SouL surpassed other professional teams to bag the first position. Ever since that, he hasn’t looked back. His team went on dominating different tournaments and Mortal became a household name in the Esports industry of India.

After Battlegrounds Mobile India was launched by Krafton, there were immense speculations regarding the roster of Team SouL. After many guesses and rumours, fans came to know the SouL roster for Battlegrounds Mobile India which consisted of star-studded players namely Mortal, Regaltos, Mavi, Scout and Viper. Despite this intimidating roster, the team hasn’t been able to show any impressive performance at the tournaments up until now. As a result, fans were expecting a change from this team.

Few days ago, Mortal confirmed that Team SouL BGMI roster is going to be disbanded. Scout and Mavi will no longer be a part of this team as the members are lacking synergy. On his recent live stream, when he was asked why he isn’t trying competitive, he was quoted saying- (translated from Hindi)

"I won't be able to practice with my team as it might be difficult for me. This might not be acceptable to the team as well as fans"

From this statement, it looks like Mortal does not have any plan to play in the competitive matches. He is also not streaming BGMI game play lately in his youtube channel which left the fans wondering regarding his role in Team SouL. Fans should wait for further updates from the officials, until then they can have a look at the video given below.
