Bill Belichick has forever known one job, to coach football. But for the past several months, he has not been doing that after vacancies for him in the NFL dried up. Now, the 72-year-old is looking towards college football and particularly UNC after their head coaching position opened up.
In college, the NIL system saw his close friend and former assistant Nick Saban leave his post from the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, Belichick has moved forward with the UNC interview and has already spoken to them more than once.
While on his Monday regime of appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, the panel asked him to confirm the rumors that he is actively looking to coach in college, and in particular UNC. Once he did, host Pat McAfee asked if Belichick’s experience in the NFL will see a system similar at the Tar Heels.
"IF I was in a College program it would be a pipeline to the NFL for the players that had the ability to play in the NFL..

It would be a professional program at the College level..
I don't have any doubt that the players would be ready for the NFL" ~ Bill Belichick #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/JyMDtzs2yR
The fact that Bill Belichick is proposing he will set up the program at the University of North Carolina Tar Heels as an NFL pipeline suggests he might be the best way to not only convince his potential employers but also recruits. However, his former players must know well enough that Belichick will be tough on those recruits.
Tom Brady jokes about Bill Belichick approaching UNC job
Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman were a part of the FOX Bros show. There, when the trio were asked if they could imagine their former head coach, Bill Belichick, interviewing for the UNC job, they replied with a strong and unanimous ‘No’. But then Brady added the trolling by saying.
Edelman added that recruiting 18-year-old players might not be the best skill his former head coach has. Gronkowski added that Belichick will prefer to talk to student athletes alone. If they are to bring their parents and any third party, their chances at UNC are over.

These might be subtle trolls, but it gives an indication into what the eight-time Super Bowl winning coach is. An old school coach who will force players to go by his book in order to succeed. Otherwise, they could look at going elsewhere.
