The former WBC Heavyweight boxing champion, Deontay Wilder faced the second loss of his career in a fight against Tyson Fury in October 2021. Wilder is 2-2-1 in his last five fights and the chairman of Matchroom sports, Eddie Hearn has a perfect name in his mind for Deontay Wilder’s next fight.

Hearn’s promotion put on 40 shows this year all over the world and they produced some of the biggest pay-per-views in professional boxing history this year. Talking about his list of surprises in a recent episode of The DAZN Boxing show, Hearn revealed the list of fights his promotion is targeting to book for 2022 and the name for Deontay Wilder’s opponent might surprise you.

Hearn says, “George Kambosos vs. Devin Haney in April or May in Australia, Deontay Wilder gained so much from his loss against Tyson Fury. We want him to see him back in the ring and Derek Chisora is the perfect comeback opponent for him in June 2022.”

The undisputed Middleweight boxing champion of the world, Canelo Alvarez won the IBF Super Middleweight title by defeating Caleb Plant in his last fight and Eddie Hearn believes it is the perfect time for him to make a move at the Light Heavyweight.

He continued, “The great P4P King, Canelo Alvarez. I know there’s talk about Junior Makabu and David Benavidez, but I’d like to provide the route to the undisputed championship at 175lbs. Dmitriy Bivol, Joe Smith, Artur Beterbiev, there’s the run all done in a year. History-making and Canelo break records all over again.”
