People expected Floyd Mayweather Jr. to end his undefeated boxing career with 49-0 after his bout against Andre Berto. In the fight, he dominated Berto with ease and won the match by a landslide. Furthermore, at one point in the match, Mayweather began clowning Berto because he knew his victory remained inevitable.
The fight lasted for 12 rounds and across the 36-minute fight, Mayweather continued to outclass Berto with ease. Before the final round, Floyd Mayweather Sr. told him, “Everything done already,” signaling that Mayweather had already won. Subsequently, Mayweather replied that looking back at his career he will always remember everything his father had taught him. Mayweather proceeded to thank his team and especially his father before he entered the presumed last round of his career.
Mayweather Sr. urged Mayweather Jr. to remain cautious before entering the ring as Mayweather says he loved his father. Mayweather remained boastful yet calm in the last round because he had already won the fight. After winning Mayweather dropped to his knees and marked the end of Mayweather’s boxing career with a 49-0 record until his eventual return.
Furthermore, in this fight, Mayweather earned $32 Million for his unanimous decision victory. Subsequently, his opponent Berto received $1900 per second of the fight even though he lost the bout.
