Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley has been confirmed. Just yesterday, there were rumors of the bout about to be made official after Mike Coppinger of the Athletic revealed that he had received information about the fight. Now, the latest development is that, the fight has been made official and will be going ahead as a 190lbs contest with 10-ounce gloves.

The news was first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN MMA. He claimed that he had learned from MMA Island about the same. The fight is expected to be inside a 20×20 boxing ring and the event will be distributed on Showtime. The event marks the pro-boxing debut of former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

Helwani tweeted, “Tyron Woodley’s first pro boxing bout will be contested at 190 pounds and with 10-ounce gloves, sources told @arielhelwani.”

Paul then responded to the same tweeting, “okaaayyyy @espn good read.”

All three of Paul’s previous opponents have been poor strikers or in fact not combat sport athletes, barring Ben Askren. He has dispatched each and everyone of them with ease. Now, this will be the first time he will be taking on someone known exclusively for his ferocious striking.

It is to be noted that Tyron Woodley was recently released by the UFC.

There is some bad blood as well. It all started when Paul and his trainer J’Leon Love disrespected Woodley backstage after the Ben Askren fight. Woodley had been planning to beat up Paul inside the ring since that day. And now, he has got the opportunity to do so.
