A Heavyweight CLASH between former UFC champion Vitor Belfort and Hasim Rahman Jr is set for October 15

DAZN on Saturday night has announced a clash between Vitor Belfort and Hasim Rahman Jr on October 15. The bout will mark the second professional match for the Phenom in boxing. On the other hand, Hasim will look to bounce back from his only loss in his last outing.
On the record tally, it seems as an edge for Rahman as this bout will be the second one for the former UFC champion. Although this doesn’t tally with Vitor’s experience in MMA.
Belfort in his first boxing bout competed in an exhibition match against boxing legend Evander Holyfield. The former UFC champion was victorious via TKO against Holyfield in 104 seconds. After the bout was not allowed to happen in California due to safety concerns, it was scrutinized by some due to the age of the competitors. The bout then was moved to Florida. The Phenom last competed in MMA back in 2018 against Lyoto Machida.
On the other hand, Hasim was scheduled to fight the YouTube star Jake Paul on August 6 in MSG. However, the bout fell through as Rahman was unable to meet the contractual weight limit. In an attempt to clear his name Rahman organised his own unofficial weigh-in. He still missed the weight by a pound.

Vitor Belfort vs Hasim Rahman JR. will serve as one of two main events for DAZN X Series 002
Going into the bout Hasim will look to bounce back from his only pro loss at the hands of James McKenzie Morrison in April. He lost the fight in April via TKO. Currently, his professional record stands at 12-1.
On the other hand, The former UFC champion was scheduled to compete in a hybrid rules match against Chad Dawson for Triad Combat. The bout was however cancelled and not rescheduled.
The bout between the two is scheduled for October 15 and will take place in Sheffield, England. The bout will serve as one half of a double main event. The second bout is still not been announced. KSI’s promotion Misfits Boxing will promote the event.
This bout will serve as one of two main events for DAZN X Series 002 on October 15. As of now, there is no clarification on how many rounds the bout will be or what weight the fight will be contested at.
