Andy Ruiz shot his shot against Tyson Fury who is currently looking for an opponent. Fury, who retired from boxing after his last fight against Dillian Whyte, has hopped in and out of retirement and seemingly now wants to actually book a fight.
Fury was in talks with fellow British boxer, Anthony Joshua starting late last month to early October, to finally materialize on their anticipated “Battle of Britain” fight. After an ultimatum from Fury and alleged unstable demands from Eddie Hearn, led to the fight being called off.
Soon after, Fury called out Manuel Charr, the German heavyweight with a 37-4 record. After that collapsed quicker than a house of cards, Fury started negotiations for a fight against Derek Chisora. Chisora and Fury have fought twice, with the Gypsy King reigning supreme both times.
With so many names flying by, Ruiz felt he might as well try to enter his name into the ballot. He did this by calling out Fury via Twitter, posting a fan-made poster with the caption, “My time will come. “ Ruiz is best known for once capturing the heavyweight in probably the biggest upset in 21st-century boxing when he TKO’d AJ in the seventh round of their short-notice fight.

However, in the rematch, Ruiz was criticized for his opulent lifestyle since winning the title, mixed in with a lack of preparation clearly visible through his shape. He would go on to lose the rematch and the titles along with it. He then would only have two more fights in the span of nearly two years.
While Ruiz may have forgotten his embarrassing title run, the fans weren’t so kind. They reminded him thoroughly what happened the last time he had to step under the bright lights. Here are the best fan reactions to Ruiz’s call out of Tyson Fury.
