Former boxing World champion, Amir Khan has been found guilty of consuming banned substances and has been strictly banned from all formats of boxing. The Brit’s last fight was against rival Kell Brook last year which also turned out to be his retirement fight. In that fight, Khan gave a lackluster performance and got dominated throughout the fight.

After a one-sided fight that went on for six rounds, Brook won the fight via unanimous decision. Soon after, Khan announced that he would be quitting boxing and revealed that had no plans to come back. Following this the boxer gave his urine sample to the UK Anti-Doping officials and it is revealed now that the results have tested positive for ostarine.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Khan mentioned that he never cheated in a fight and the amount found in his sample was very less. According to the boxer, he’s already retired from the sport and the two-year ban doesn’t make any sense to him.

He said: “I have never cheated in my life…The amount that was in my system could have been from shaking people’s hands… I am a retired fighter, so I’ve got a two-year ban now which is quite strange and funny that they’ve banned me. I’m already retired anyway.”

Khan also mentioned that his team is still working on the matter and will again share his views with the public. The two-year ban on Khan’s professional boxing career starts on 6 April 2022 and will expire on 5 April 2024.
