Forbes’s top 50 highest-paid athletes for 2023 was topped by Cristiano Ronaldo with overall earnings of $136 million. The next two positions were also occupied by soccer players. Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe secured a place on the list with total earnings of $130 million and $ 120 million respectively. Only two athletes from the world of boxing made it on the list of 50. While many agreed with the list, boxing fans trolled heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury for his absence on the list.

Mexican boxer, Canelo Alvarez secured the 5th position on the list with overall earnings of $ 110 million. With his position on the list, Canelo proved why he is called the face of boxing and will stay so until retirement. Meanwhile, Former two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua clocked in at the 28th spot. With overall earnings of $ 53 million, he beat current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury who was missing from the list.

Tyson Fury made it to the highest-paid athlete list in 2022 with overall earnings of $62 million. However, due to his inactivity and failure to secure a fight with

British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua made it to the 28th position with total earnings of $53 million. Although boxing fans are perplexed as to why one of the most renowned boxer heavyweight boxers, did not make it to the list.

Tyson Fury who secured the 18th spot on the list last year, has been dropped off from the 2023 list. Fury’s absence led many fans to believe, the heavyweight boxer might not be as big of a draw as he thinks he is. Fans took to Twitter and trolled Tyson Fury for his absence despite asking for outrageous percentages. One of the users posted about Fury reportedly pledging all his money from his first fight with Deontay Wilder. Despite making a vow to donate his earnings, many are uncertain if Fury went through with it. ” Fraud Fury gave all his purse to the charity,” posted one of the users.
