UFC president Dana White has recently reacted to Canelo Alvarez’s loss against Dmitry Bivol on May 7. Canelo fought Bivol Fought for the WBA light heavyweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Canelo moved up the weight category and fought at light heavyweight against Bivol. Bivol was looked upon as a normal fighter and another name to add to Canelo’s legacy. However, Dmitry Bivol proved he is not a paper champ, but a real champion. Bivol Defeated Canelo, who is currently the pound-for-pound number one boxer in the world.
Canelo, who looked unbeatable in the past, was outmatched by Dimitry’s skills and failed to gain an advantage over him. Bivol followed a perfect game plan and landed excellent combinations and sometimes a seemingly endless string of jabs. Canelo looked lost and could not adapt according to Bivol’s skills.
Bivol won the fight via a unanimous decision and successfully defended his belt against Canelo. All the three judges score the fight 115-113 in the favor of Dmitry Bivol. On the fight night, Bivol came out as a better fighter compared to Canelo and extended his unbeaten streak to 20-0.
“Kid fought his a** off“- Dana White respects Canelo Alvarez putting everything on the night against Dmitry Bivol
UFC president also Dana shared his views about Canelo’s defeat against Dmitry Bivol. Canelo and Bivol fought on the same night as UFC 274 and as Canelo Alvarez suffered a shock defeat over the weekend as he lost via unanimous decision to Dmitry Bivol, UFC president Dana White was spotted watching their fight during the UFC event.
Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza fought against each other for the woman’s Strawweight title, held by Rose. The fight is now regarded as one of the worst title fights in UFC history. Both fighters were reluctant to engage in the battle and Dana claimed to have dozed off during the fight
Dana was not interested in watching the Carla vs Rose fight and was spotted watching Canelo’s fight against Bivol. In a video taken by a UFC fan, Dana can be seen watching Canelo vs Bivol as the co-main event of UFC continued. This is the second time Dana was spotted watching Canelo’s fight during UFC events.
As Bivol won the fight against Canelo, Dana reacted to the loss and claimed that the rematch would be a big fight to make.
